Rules:
Must be point-and-click. Sorry, STACKING!
Must have shipped in 2002 or later.
You can list as many as you want.
After we get a list, I’m going to turn it into a poll to find the top five!
Exciting!

I’ll start: Mechanarium. There’s one.

Hmm off the top of my head.  I’d say Syberia I and II, also Myst IV.  (Can’t we make it 13years so I can mention Longest…. ah never mind smile )

Gray Matter.
Dave Gilbert’s Blackwell series is quite good. I am not awarding this on some special indie-dev scale, they are quite good commercial games.
Secret Files 1 + 2.
The first Ankh had pretty good production values. Of course this isn’t everything. I thought Lost Horizon had *really* good production values but it just fell flat for me. Ankh seemed better than average though.
I liked Undercover: Operation Wintersun.
There are of course the remakes and special editions (Quest for Glory II, Broken Sword).
That’s all I can think of for now.

I jumped to post in this thread as soon as I saw it and then got stumped. Pretty much every point and click adventure I could think of was made prior to 2000.

Do free Flash games count? If so I’ll say:

Gretel and Hansel 1 and 2 available on the Newgrounds website. The games are awesome and free. Really hope the authors continue making them.

Also, this: Host Master and the Conquest of Humor

I did enjoy the games of deck 13, next to the ankh series also jack keane.
The first two seasons of sam & max by tell tale where a lot of fun but didn’t really enjoyed the new controls of season 3. I also like the hector badge of carnage serie they published.
And the runaway series(especially part 2).

Dreamfall is good, even more so if you buy the GOTY edition which includes the acclaimed prequel The Longest Journey… Did you like how I managed to sneak TLJ past your time-frame limit?

And for seemingly no reason, in this thread.

Anyway, yeah, TLJ: Dreamfall is fantastic.

Well, I guess I’ll post again. I only really played Telltale’s Sam & Max games, unless we can count Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. We should totally count Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney.

It’s not just this thread guys. Every post from the last two days is gone. It probably has something to do with the forum migration or the creation of the backer forum.

If you enjoyed Machinarium, you should check out Amanita Design’s Samorost 1 & 2. You can play the first for free on their website.

Gemini Rue (available on Steam)

IGN Review

Having done all the writing, animation and programming himself, Gemini Rue took Josh Nuernberger a total of three years to make—the same amount of time it takes some triple-A titles to hit the shelves. If only more triple-A games turned out this well. With seamless, intuitive gameplay, impressive atmosphere and one of most well-crafted and interesting storylines seen in recent years, Gemini Rue is a game not just for adventure fans, but for anyone who loves a good, gritty yarn.

There have definitely been some great point and clicks over the past decade, but here are some of my favourite play-throughs:

7 Days a Skeptic (the rest of the series is pretty good too)
Time Gentlemen, Please! & Ben There, Done That
999: 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors
Metal Dead
Machinarium and its older brother, Samorost (1&2)
The Dream Machine
Gemini Rue
Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective
The Book of Unwritten Tales
To The Moon (not really a point and click, but too good to pass up)
Sleep Is Death (sort of a multiplayer DIY adventure)
