There was an episode of Mythbusters where they tested wether they could start any tree fires by putting a crap ton of lights on it and leaving it on for a day. It didn’t work, and even when they used a fully dried out tree it still didn’t work

Is more likely you’ll start a fire with Xmas lights if it shorts out or you overload the socket. So don’t do those things and you should be a-okay. Or just get some nice modern LED lights, they look nice and last forever

Actually, have you ever read the warning labels on those Christmas lights? One year I was putting up mine and noticed this message on the box:

Made in China
“Warning: Do not put wires in mouth or expose to skin. These wires are covered with a protective coating that may cause sterility in men.”

Holy Shit! I guess I shouldn’t have put those lights around my genitals then!

shopping today went totally awesome! <3
I was kind of put off by how yesterday went but the mall was totally great i bought so much stuff and only barely any of it was for me i only have a little bit of shopping left to do tomorrow super excite

annd i finally found an advent calendar at the candy store in the mall of all places i been scouring the grocery stores and the targets and such for one wondering what kind of crazy voodoo masgic i need to perform to get an advent calendar at this point and then when im not even looking for one they’re all over the place aint that always the way

AND ALSO the teashop was giving out free chai tea samples and it was basically the best day today ever christmas is saved.

Actually, my GF is getting the album for Christmas, and that’s how i’m going to give it to her. I’m going to strap a box to my crotch in which i’ll place the CD, to the inside i’ll glue a dildo for effect, though i don’t dare putting my own in the box because of fear of heaving it chopped off.

Make sure you have a fire extinguisher nearby the tree!
Make sure that the extinguisher is an A, B, and C type (the C is what is important as that is for electrical fires!)
