Another Day, Another Punch In the Face

The weird thing about this album is that it totally makes me think of playing Miner 2049er on my Atari 800. Summer of ‘82, I just sat around my room, playing Miner 2049er, listening to Iron Fist. While other people were, like, dating, or getting excercise, or making friends.

Ha ha. Fools!

Summer of ‘82 I four years old and probably drawing with crayolas trying to make my own impression of this cover from Steve Miller Band:

All the while actually listening to Black Sabbath with my father. I started gaming on the Atari 2600 in ‘87 though, and still listened to heavy metal when I was 7. Other kids were probably listening to 80’s pop and playing on slip n’ slides while I was happily playing Asteroids in the tune of “Snowblind”.

Nuff about me though. These albums having signatures on them, pretty much rules.. much like whatever it is that you guys haven’t been able to talk about yet.

Very nice approach to marketing your new game. The game is getting a lot of coverage. Hopefully this game sells better than Psychonauts. I just wish I got one of those red records. :(

You, sir...are wrong.

EVERYONE knows the correct album for playing Miner 2049er (and Zork III for that matter) was Thunder Seven from Triumph.

I mean, jeez.

How fantastic! I wonder what other mystical album covers Tim will share with us!

Ah the 80s. Garage Rock Revival and psychedelics. What a psychonaut I was.

Or at least, had I been alive prior to 1985. (That rhymes)

So, I’m guessing some weapon will be a giant Iron Fist? And there’s probably something to do with the Miner 2049er thing.

Tim I hope you are able to vent about your new game before your head explodes with awesome overload.

Yes Tim, we know already.  Using an umlaut in random places makes that word much cooler.

Posted by reasonablysunny on 10/16 at 09:38 PM

I’ve figured it out: an umlaut is two carefully distilled drops of pure rock placed over a vowel for maximum impact.

Lemmy does. Is he the sensei of Brutal Legend?

I totally remember summer of 82.  I was -5 years old and having a blast.

If BrĂ¼tal Legend (don’t deny it) doesn’t come out on PC, Tim, you’ll never see your shoe on a photo again.

I mean it! :(

BEST… GAME… EVER!

reasonablysunny, you’re wrong about the umlaut. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a vowel - Spinal Tap had one over the “N” (even though my keyboard can’t type it)

Other than that, I think that definition is difinitive!

Ace of spades…
The game looks like it rocks (haha), hope it fairs the sweltering shores of Australia soon…
Best of luck!
ps. it looks wikkid. Spelt just like that.

If you show an Iron Maiden album next, I will explode.

It’s like these news items are leading up to something…

If I had to guess, it’ll be a build up to the end of GI’s really annoying exclusivity nonsense on details of the game :p After which I’d guess we can expect a high res trailer, screenshots, detailed info, and all that stuff.

Posted by Hermit on 10/17 at 03:38 PM

Oh, and wallpapers of course. My desktop needs some Brutal Legend too.

so does this mean the thing with the hell and the guy that tries to get out and stuff with rock in it is true ?
