Can I Update the News from San Luis Obispo?

Yes!
How do my internets get through that solid rock wall? Simple: nothing can stop the truth.

Bonus points if you can identify the hotel, and room number from that photo.

(Each bonus point is worth approximately zero American dollars, and is not transferable.)

Hey that’s the Madonna Inn!!  Could be a couple rooms.  Perhaps room 130, the Yosemite Rock room?  You should have stayed in the San Fransisco room.  Make sure you check out the bathroom in the lobby, it’s got a waterfall toilet.  Craziness.  Over the borderline, Ha.

Hard Rock Hotel?

(ba-zing)

Man, that’s some pretty powerful internet truth you have there.

Posted by Comp1337-Ctrl on 12/13 at 12:38 AM

I totally guessed the Madonna Inn as well. I don’t know the rooms that well so I couldn’t guess that factor.
Fun Fact: I had dinner there on my way back from College Orientation to LA.

Time to proudly parade ones ignorance again!
Isnt that a number plate next to the door, and doesnt it say 55? Is that the rooms number? Be that the true number of truth??

Posted by masquerade on 12/13 at 04:01 AM

Yes, I believe that is the room No. It either be 55 or a scuffed 99.

Living it up like only a cave man can-- with the interwets.

Tim, is there -anywhere- your feet haven’t been?

Posted by Tim Schafer on 12/13 at 11:27 PM

I’m sorry but your well-intentioned guess is incorrect. That is not a 55 nor a 99 but, in fact, a lightswitch.

But further to the left is a lady made of stained glass. HINT.

Is it #140 Bridal Falls?

That looks like a rock room with green trim which apparently has a “lovely hand-crafted leaded glass window which cast soft and romantic colors into the room”.

I don’t have the patience to look thru the others =P

Patience is my middle name!

The only room that looks like that one your in, with the same wooded green ceiling and the “lovely hand-crafted leaded glass window which cast soft and romantic colors into the room” is the 140 bridal falls room. With a water fall shower… neat!

Posted by willy on 12/14 at 11:52 AM

Wops. Never mind. You had found the same room XD

Posted by Tim Schafer on 12/14 at 04:30 PM

Wow. Are there no Li’l Abner fans left in the world? Kids today!

Posted by Foofaraw on 12/14 at 07:14 PM

#138 Daisy Mae… and I’ve never read any Li’l Abner. >_<

Posted by Evitron on 12/14 at 10:34 PM

Of course, the question now is:

-Why- are you in San Luis, Tim?

Mysteriousness abound!

Posted by Mr. Dog on 12/14 at 11:33 PM

kewl. OK, SLO-area stalkers, get Mom to drive you to the Madonna Inn so you can follow Mr. Schafer around!

‘’I’m sorry but your well-intentioned guess is incorrect. That is not a 55 nor a 99 but, in fact, a lightswitch. ‘’

Are you sure you didn’t just slice a bagel in half and staple both parts to the wall? Like the bagel tormentor you are? http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f70/masquerade_red/bane-of-the-bagel.jpg

I shall join the disenfranchised bandwagon of the folks above, knowing naught of the States hotel/motel/hostel/prison, scene.

Posted by birdman on 12/15 at 01:00 PM

Im going to have to guess “16”
I just see crap on the walls and think I see 16 I could be very wrong.

This may be the time for you to all buy sledge hammers
theres never a bad time to buy sledge hammers

Pffft and here I’ve been hanging out on street corners all day today wearing my awesome new Brutal Legend t-shirt, hoping Tim drives by and sees an adoring member of his zombie army, and he’s not even in town! What a gyp!

That’s the last time I’ll every buy 27 copies of Psychonauts and a t-shirt for a game you haven’t even published yet and haven’t revealed your secret plans for a PC version of yet, I swear!

Posted by Tim Schafer on 12/15 at 02:31 PM

Mr. or Mrs. Foofaraw, you are correct sir/madam! It is the Daisy Mae, and that is her figure represented in stained glass. She is on the cover of “Li’l Abner, the Frazetta Years” and Frank Frazetta’s art is a big inspiration for Brütal Legend, so it all comes back around in some crazy cosmic spirograph.

Of course “Mr. Pokeylope” you are a winner as well, because you bought 27 copies of Psychonauts, which is its own reward.

Oh that reminds me. We have to announce the winners of the Christmas Competition!

Posted by Tikara on 12/15 at 02:54 PM

ABOUT TIME TIM~ Seriously, you’ve been having us all on pins and needles waiting to see who won and such. I thought you wanted us to send them in once the winners were announced. HOW CAN WE SEND THEM IN if you have not even judged them D: CHRISTMAS WILL BE OVER by the time we send them and such.

Posted by mr.pokeylope on 12/15 at 03:21 PM

Yay, I won the opportunity to spend money! Woo! Somehow this feels like Las Vegas hmmm

Posted by masquerade on 12/15 at 03:58 PM

Everyone’s a winner, baby. surprised

Posted by Icebox on 12/15 at 08:56 PM

Thank You Kindly Mr. Schafer for introducing me to a new (and Awesome!) Artist. I’m Loving Brutal Legend more every minute!
