Important Brütal Legend update!

I bought Tasha’s famous Litter Robot.

Jealous?

UPDATE - My review after three days of use: So imagine a rock tumbler, with an ingenious method for sifting cat litter, with the brains and charm of R2D2. Now imagine it covered in cat pee. Soaked in cat pee and wet cat litter. Imagine rivers of cat pee flowing into all of the machine’s little nooks and crannies, places you can’t get to, so it just sits in there--rotting and stinking like an outhouse on a hot beach. Oh, Tasha. I will get even with you some day for this disgusting, disgusting thing.

UPDATE - Spelling fix! (Apparently, I can’t spell “Ingenious” or “crannies.” Which is really sad because “Ingenious Crannies” was the name of my roommate’s band in college.)

We stole the Millenium Falcon(tm)!!!

One of our secret agents went to LucasArts today (proof!) and while he was there, he snuck over to ILM and stole this model of the Millennium Falcon that they used in the first Star Wars movie! OMG!

Can you believe it?!?

Okay, Okay, I’d better come clean, lest we have some sort of awesome, Orson-Welles-War-of-the-Worlds-type hoax on our hands here.

That’s not a real model of the Millennium Falcon. That is a Lego version, and nobody stole it. You can buy them in stores. But the animators did put it together all by themselves. See how proud they are?

This is just one of the many things that real animators can do that motion capture can’t. If you visit other game studios, the kind that use mo-cap, you’ll notice the Legos just sit in unassembled piles on the floor.

I’ve been seeing this ad around town lately, sometimes on a streetlight banner, and this time on the side of a Muni train. I’m not sure what the Giants are up to, but a careful study of this picture makes me think it’s one of the following:

They want to inform the world of my gaming cred.

They want to confuse people about what I look like.

They think my cheeks look fat.

They are trying to warn me that I have an enlarged heart.

Or all of the above. I don’t know. And I have no idea why the Giants are suddenly obsessed with me. But all I can say is it’s about time!

The only question is, “What costume will you wear this time?”

What the heck? Double Fine has reached the Great 8 of the Escapists March Mayhem. Woo!

So now we are up against Valve, and you know what that means. It’s time to stop this crazy, competitive mayhem and just declare the whole thing an 8-way tie. Everybody’s a winner!

We developers have to stick together, right? There’s room for us all to be successful, right? Who’s with me?

If you agree with me, then let us know by going to the ballot right now and voting for Double Fine. I know I said we should call it a tie, but there’s no check box for “Tie” so just vote for Double Fine, and when we win I’ll call it a tie I swear.

UPDATE:

Wow, I was kind of kidding, but you guys actually went and made it a tie. This is all kinds of ridiculous:

Not that I care or anything. Not that I even looked. I totally saw this by accident. I don’t even care. But man, the fact that we are so close to Valve here has me re-evaluating the power of our fans. You guys are an awesome and terrifying force.

Voting has opened again on the Escapist’s Developer Mayhem. Round 3! Double Fine vs. Lionhead!

I have never met Peter Molyneux in person, but I’m sure if he were here today, he would tell you to vote for Double Fine!

In other news, here are some cats playing Psychonauts:

I hope you went to Scott’s big “King of Kong” print signing down in LA, because not only could you have met Scott there, but you probably would have also met Raz, famous video game star from such Excellent Games as Psychonauts.

I stole that picture from Gallery Nucleus’ Flickr page. Along with
