Mummy at the MoCCA

That’s right, the star of “Mummy at the Window” will be making a PERSONAL APPEARANCE at the MoCCA this weekend.
But that is not all!
Hit that “read the rest” to find out who else will be there. And what MoCCA is for crying out loud.
Did you hit it? Good.
So MoCCA stands for “Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art” and they are having a big to-do in NYC this weekend, and the Mummy will be there, as will Scott C. and Nathan Stapley! In the flesh! And felt!
As Scott describes it, “we’ll have pizza bros shirts and dfac books. and so forth. And a DF blanket as a table cloth. We are going to look awesome.”
Scott never capitalizes because it would overly-stress his fingers, which he needs for creating awesome art.
You can read even more and see more art over at Scott’s blog.
All of you East Coasters who were bummed because they missed WonderCon, now you have an awesome exclusive appearance all to yourselves! So there will be no more complaining, you hear?
"Alright that's a little better. But seriously, maybe give Philly a shot? I promise that no one will mug you -- ok that's not a promise I can make but still, it wouldn't hurt. The coming to Philly part, not the mugging. Getting mugged would most likely hurt...quite a bit. Unless of course they're friendly."
"Yes, i love mummy at the window, and have ravishing time Scott C."
WonderCon!!!
I’m going to be there Saturday at 1:00pm, but look who’s there right now!

It’s Laura the Shopkeeper! Just like the shopkeeper in Monkey Island, but sliiiightly less crabby.
Read the rest to see what shop item people are requesting the most!

If you look at that picture in the right way, it looks like Zack is a ventriloquist dummy sitting in Laura’s lap.
"Psychonauts ANIMATED SERIES. SERIES, I say!"
"Where's the Brutal Legend sequel list?"
"Except it doesn't say "Squeal" it says "Sequel", my bad."
"Make that 16 copies sold for sure, hell I'll buy that piece of paper with the words "Psychonauts Squeal" on it.
And yes to Psychonauts comic, mmmhmmm~"
"...I need to go there"
This is just a taste!

...of the good things you could see if you go to Scott C.‘s art show coming up this THURSDAY in LONDON. Sorry, I said Saturday before, but it’s Thursday. But it’s still in London.
Details below!
"Ever thought of coming out to Philly? No?....meh...it was worth a shot..."
"someday, somewhere, i'll find somebody in alaska talking about double fine and i'll say, "tikara?" and you'll say ,"smootyman?" and it will be amazing. until then, im going to be playing psychonauts."
"ANYWAY, BACK TO SCOTT CAMPBELL, I ultra wish I coulda been there but London's hella far away. You should come back to San Fran sometime, Scott! D:"
"Aww, ah well, it's alright. I'm not a hardcore anime fan either. I just like to go there to see my friends, check out game tournaments and meet awesome people. Senshicon is basically a big local get-together I enjoy checking out. If you change your mind and decide to go, then I'm sure you'll notice me somewhere~ :3
Pfft, I like how we're filling up the comment box on this news entry. SORRY GUYS it's just not often I find a local Alaskan online, let alone via Double Fine of all places."
"haha i know, i thought the same thing. about another alaskan i mean. ive never heard of senshicon but im not a very hardcore anime fan so i doubt i'd be there. sorry."
450 Sutter
Okay, no one can scoop me on this because no one was there except for me and the grumpy elevator guy. I was at my doctor’s last week, and his offices are in the Grim Fandango building, aka 450 Sutter Street, San Francisco. So I took some pictures in case you’re not from SF and you wanted to see what the real Department of Death looked like:

If you click on “Read the rest” you might read a couple more words, but mostly you will see three more pictures!
When we were making Grim, we saw pictures of this awesome building in our reference books, and it inspired a lot of our architecture in El Marro and Rubacava. Little did I know that someday I’d move to the city and visit the Land of the Dead every time I went to my doctor, my dentist, or my optometrist. I got a root canal there once. Ah, memories.

"Hi, i am from trading tips .Wealth in its most primal form comes from under the ground. Plants come from under the ground. Minerals come from under the ground. Water comes from under the ground. Even petrol comes from under the ground. Little wonder then that Lakshmi, the Hindu goddess of wealth, is called Patala-nivasini, she who resides in the subterranean realm. She is also addressed as Pulomi, the daughter of the Asura-king, Puloman and Bhargavi, daughter of Bhrigus, another name for Shukra, who served as guru to the Asuras. But Asuras are demons who have been shoved under the ground by the gods! What make Lakshmi the daughter of demons? Is this an ancient moral judgment against wealth?

"This is how all medical facilities should look."
"Someone needs to put a poster for the number nine up on those walls and take a picture."
"Tim, i lived a block away from there for two years... and for two years I was convinced that was the DOD! Finally! Closure!"
"That is super sweet. Who's the architect, the Evil Shandor?"
Congratulations Bioware!
Great work on your awesome game, Brütal Legend!
J/k. I hear there were a lot of cards mis-printed that night. Good thing I wasn’t there or I would have gone nut sh!t on those awards people.
But no, I wouldn’t have, because I would have been too busy being happy, because Brütal Legend won two AIAS Awards!
We won for Best Soundtrack, which was of course our divine right, granted to us by the Gods of Metal.
And we also won for Strategy/Simulation Game of the Year! Holy Ess! Nice!!!
It was a magical evening that could only have been made better if I wasn’t enjoying it curled up in bed with my laptop and a mug of Theraflu. I couldn’t be at the show because I got some sort of nasty throat infection which I somehow still have, and I now think I will just always have. My throat hurts a lot but I’ve lost a little weight on the “Everything I eat hurts like a handful of glass shards going down my throat” diet, so I got that going for me.
What were we talking about? Oh yeah! Good work on that game, Canadian strategy masters!
"Best soundtrack and best strategy/simulation game. I'm not surprised, this game rocked my world. Heck, I'm listening to Brocas Helm right now because of you guys and your awesomeness!"
"Double Fine has shown the world they can do multiplayer, whether or not players took the time to appreciate it. I hope to see a sequel just so they can take the multiplayer up another notch."
"Tim, have you considered the assassins are after you again? I mean the throat pretty much sums up everything."
"Congrats! That's awesome for you!
But I'm also a little bit annoyed because I just found out that a soundtrack for the game's original score has been available on iTunes.....SINCE OCTOBER 30!
Come on people I've been waiting for that thing for months only to find out about it just now...by chance...really???"
"Congrats to all at DoubleFine! Brutal Legend is certainly one of the best game I've ever played in my lifetime, maybe it's because I'm a metal head, maybe it's because I loved the RTS gameplay, or maybe it's because it sported one of the most finely scripted storylines ever, either way, congrats on such a major. Very much earned."

"TShanks, If they come to Philly you and me is gonna hop on that train and see them, and then I'll make lost references, and then We'll get pizza."
