## Episode Transcript

9 secondsTIM: What happened last week in the world of business?

11 secondsGREG: Uh, lots of things!

13 secondsUh, the biggest is AF is coming up very soon.

16 seconds-\[TIM RATTLES THE BOX\] -Yes!

17 secondsTIM: What is inside there?

18 seconds\[MUSIC\]

20 secondsOh-h-h!

21 seconds\[MUSIC\]

23 secondsWhat's in the box?!

24 secondsGREG: God! Creepy.

27 seconds\[GREG CHUCKLES\]

29 secondsTIM: So, Amnesia Fortnight is when we take a break

31 secondsfrom what we are doing for two weeks.

32 secondsForget what we were working on before.

34 secondsAnd split the company into small groups.

36 secondsAnd they each have two weeks to make a game.

38 secondsDREW: Oh my god! That's so fucked up!

42 secondsTIM: And we get to test, you know, four junior project leaders.

44 seconds-The audio the thing? -BRAD: Yeah, what is that?!

46 seconds-It's awesome, right? -BRAD: It's cool!

47 secondsTIM: And also it just generates a lot of ideas

49 secondsthat have turned into some of our best games.

51 secondsLike Costume Quest, and Stacking, and Once Upon a Monster, and Iron Brigade.

53 secondsA lot of our games have come from Amnesia Fortnight.

56 secondsTIM: I have gotten a bunch of pitches in my office already.

58 secondsWe filmed them.

59 secondsAnd it just reminded me of why I love Amnesia Fortnight.

1 minute and 1 secondBecause it's just, like, this huge explosion of creativity

1 minute and 4 secondsand we find out, like, everybody in the office has an idea.

1 minute and 6 secondsLook at this game, man! Shit!

1 minute and 8 secondsHe is, like, always on the floor, so, like...

1 minute and 10 secondsTIM: I love that setup of-- that there is this character that's only on the ceiling.

1 minute and 12 secondsJEREMY: Yeah, I do too!

1 minute and 13 secondsMIYUKI: It's a-- it's a, um...

1 minute and 15 secondsMusical Action RPG...

1 minute and 17 seconds...where you sing to save the world.

1 minute and 21 secondsSing to save the world! That's awesome.

1 minute and 23 secondsSurvive in a dynamic ecosystem

1 minute and 25 secondswhere your actions impact the evolution of other species.

1 minute and 27 secondsOh, you are the natural selector?

1 minute and 29 secondsASIF: ...before preparing and plating a meal

1 minute and 31 secondsthat will prevent giant ravenous gods from eating the human race.

1 minute and 35 secondsOh, you are feeding the gods?

1 minute and 36 seconds-ASIF: Yes. -Okay.

1 minute and 37 seconds-Because it's based around, like... -TIM: Giant plants?

1 minute and 39 secondsWell, small plants, but they feel big!

1 minute and 41 secondsTell me your game pitch! Do you have a one-liner?

1 minute and 43 seconds-No, I don't have a one-liner. -Oh, jeez, okay.

1 minute and 45 seconds-Too god for one-liners. Let's hear it. -No! Not too good for one-liners.

1 minute and 47 secondsI just haven't gotten to it yet.

1 minute and 48 secondsI mean, basically, one-liner is...

1 minute and 50 secondsIt is, a...

1 minute and 51 secondsLike a social co-operative WarioWare in VR.

1 minute and 54 secondsA lot of good ones on here.

2 minutes and 0 secondsTIM: Derek Brand!

2 minutes and 1 second-Hello! -TIM: Hello.

2 minutes and 2 seconds-Hi. -TIM: Good to see you.

2 minutes and 3 secondsGood to see you. Welcome back!

2 minutes and 4 secondsThis is not your first time in the office.

2 minutes and 5 secondsDEREK: No.

2 minutes and 6 secondsTIM: You have in fact pitched and run an Amnesia Fortnight project before.

2 minutes and 9 seconds-DEREK: Yeah, yeah. -TIM: Mnemonic.

2 minutes and 11 seconds-DEREK: Yes, you remembered! -TIM: Mnemonic.

2 minutes and 14 secondsTIM: Yeah, that was a good one!

2 minutes and 15 seconds-DEREK: It was cool! It was fun. -You got picked before!

2 minutes and 16 secondsTIM: What was that like? Pitching and then getting picked.

2 minutes and 18 secondsUh, it was terrifying.

2 minutes and 19 secondsTIM: I think that's a nice sign that Derek is doing it again.

2 minutes and 22 secondsBecause he had been thrown into the lion's den of leading a project

2 minutes and 25 secondswhen he never led that before.

2 minutes and 27 secondsUh, he is a really quiet person

2 minutes and 28 secondswho mostly just sticks to himself and just does-- does his thing!

2 minutes and 32 secondsAnd here he was put in charge of a project.

2 minutes and 34 secondsAnd it being filmed.

2 minutes and 35 secondsAnd having, like, you know, Brad on his team

2 minutes and 37 secondswho is very, you know... the opposite.

2 minutes and 40 secondsYou know, very boisterous and outspoken.

2 minutes and 42 secondsWhat would Brad do?

2 minutes and 43 secondsThat's what I-- That's what I ask myself all the time.

2 minutes and 46 secondsWhat would Brad do?

2 minutes and 47 secondsI would probably look really hard in the mirror and be like:

2 minutes and 49 seconds"I've never fucking made a story-based game in my life!

2 minutes and 51 secondsWhat the fuck am I doing right now?!"

2 minutes and 53 secondsUm...

2 minutes and 54 seconds-Me neither, so! -BRAD: So then, you take a deep breath...

2 minutes and 56 seconds...and you be like: "Fake it till you make it."

2 minutes and 58 secondsAnd just keep, you know...

2 minutes and 59 secondsDo it! Just start doing it.

3 minutes and 1 secondUm...

3 minutes and 2 secondsAnd he went through all that.

3 minutes and 3 secondsAnd he wants to do it again, which I think is a great sign.

3 minutes and 6 secondsBecause even though it was hard,

3 minutes and 7 secondshe still-- he still found it valuable, I guess, in some way.

3 minutes and 11 secondsDEREK: The game that I would like to pitch to you is a, uh...

3 minutes and 15 secondsI have different names for it, but right now, um...

3 minutes and 18 secondsit's called Empty Vessel.

3 minutes and 19 secondsAnd it's a game where you use a unique pottery wheel mechanic

3 minutes and 22 secondswhere you craft these little golem warriors...

3 minutes and 26 seconds-TIM: Mm-hmm. -...that you then control into battle.

3 minutes and 28 secondsTIM: On the wheel?

3 minutes and 29 secondsDEREK: Yeah, you make them on the wheel.

3 minutes and 30 secondsAnd then you control them....

3 minutes and 32 seconds-...into battle against each other. -Hm!

3 minutes and 34 secondsDEREK: In, like, a multiplayer team-based game.

3 minutes and 37 secondsThere is a kiln over on the side.

3 minutes and 39 seconds-DEREK: Yeah! -That should be the name of the game.

3 minutes and 40 secondsKill... with an N.

3 minutes and 42 secondsKilln? Oh, that's pretty good.

3 minutes and 43 seconds-DEREK: I'm looking for a name. -Or, um...

3 minutes and 45 secondsPottery Harm.

3 minutes and 46 seconds-DEREK: Pottery-- oh! -TIM: Right?

3 minutes and 47 seconds-TIM: There is another great-- -Thank you.

3 minutes and 49 seconds\[MUSIC\]

3 minutes and 51 secondsTIM: No matter what your position is,

3 minutes and 52 secondsif you've pitched a game, and gotten feedback on it,

3 minutes and 55 secondsand seen what people thought of it...

3 minutes and 56 secondsJust getting that out of your system helps you a lot.

3 minutes and 58 secondsIt teaches you a lot.

3 minutes and 59 secondsIt kind of, like, gets the crusty grime out of the end of the pipe,

4 minutes and 3 secondsthe creativity pipe where your ideas come out of.

4 minutes and 5 secondsYou just gotta keep ideas moving.

4 minutes and 7 secondsYou know, I feel like sometimes momentum is more important than...

4 minutes and 10 seconds...loving this: "Oh, I have this one-- this crusty thing on the end of the pipe

4 minutes and 14 secondsthat is just going to be someday a perfect thing.

4 minutes and 17 secondsAnd I'm going to do it."

4 minutes and 18 secondsAnd you are just in love with your ideas.

4 minutes and 19 secondsAnd I think you just gotta share them with people

4 minutes and 22 secondsand have them get either developed or shutdown,

4 minutes and 24 secondsso that you can move on.

4 minutes and 26 secondsBecause creativity is this endless process you should do every day of your life.

4 minutes and 30 secondsI just figured out that Amnesia Fortnight is the best thing ever

4 minutes and 33 secondsby saying that out loud.

4 minutes and 33 secondsOkay.

4 minutes and 35 secondsAh! We are up!

4 minutes and 37 secondsOkay, we are up!

4 minutes and 40 secondsSPAFF: Okay, good.

4 minutes and 41 secondsTIM: It's time for Amnesia Fortnight!

4 minutes and 43 secondsSPAFF: Perfect! It's all working. Okay.

4 minutes and 45 secondsBut, yeah, I'm excited! I don't know who is going to win.

4 minutes and 47 secondsI haven't casted my own vote yet.

4 minutes and 49 secondsI need to.

4 minutes and 52 secondsIt's going to be political though.

4 minutes and 53 secondsLike, Greg will see my vote!

4 minutes and 55 seconds\[SPAFF LAUGHS\]

4 minutes and 56 secondsGosh, it feels like literally anything could get picked.

5 minutes and 0 secondsAMY: I'm a little nervous.

5 minutes and 1 secondJust because I think I might claw my face off, if I was picked.

5 minutes and 4 secondsBut in a good way.

5 minutes and 5 secondsSince we went public, it's all very clearly high stakes.

5 minutes and 8 secondsAnd I know that creates a lot of stress for people.

5 minutes and 10 secondsBut I feel like it makes everybody step up.

5 minutes and 12 secondsAnd makes, like, some of the best final products we've had.

5 minutes and 15 secondsAnd I feel bad, because it's not-- you know, not---

5 minutes and 18 secondsAmnesia Fortnight is not here to make people miserable.

5 minutes and 20 secondsThat's just the side benefit of it.

5 minutes and 23 secondsWinning is, like, a really exciting, awesome thing,

5 minutes and 25 secondsbut also comes with, like, this huge pile of stress.

5 minutes and 27 seconds-\[KEE LAUGHS\] -DEVIN: And so...

5 minutes and 29 seconds-Oh, sorry! -\[DEVIN LAUGHS\]

5 minutes and 32 secondsLike, having led a project in AF before,

5 minutes and 33 secondsI also know how super stressful it is

5 minutes and 36 secondsfor everyone involved, but especially the project leads, so.

5 minutes and 40 secondsUm...

5 minutes and 41 secondsYeah, I'm kind of going into it as, like:

5 minutes and 43 seconds"Any news is going to be good news."

5 minutes and 46 secondsTIM: I thought about it for a long time.

5 minutes and 49 secondsBut, actually, I feel like I made my selection the moment it was pitched.

5 minutes and 53 secondsAs soon as it was pitched, I was like:

5 minutes and 54 seconds"Oh god, I think that's the one I'm going to pick."

5 minutes and 56 secondsTIM: Time to announce...

6 minutes and 0 seconds...our official selections.

6 minutes and 6 secondsBRIAN: It's just called Bad Golf question mark.

6 minutes and 8 seconds\[TIM EXHALES\]

6 minutes and 10 secondsZAK: Bad Golf Origins...

6 minutes and 13 secondsTIM: Uh... so, first we are going to start with the hardest decision,

6 minutes and 18 secondsmy decision, the executive decision.

6 minutes and 20 secondsBut the game that I finally-- I picked was one

6 minutes and 23 secondsthat I just thought was really-- it was cool, it was experimental.

6 minutes and 26 secondsAnd it was really new, but it was also--

6 minutes and 28 secondsI could see it-- It was really simple.

6 minutes and 29 secondsAnd I could see us making an actual-- really, really fun game in two weeks.

6 minutes and 34 secondsUh...

6 minutes and 35 secondsAnd that's I Have No Idea What I'm Doing.

6 minutes and 37 secondsI Have No Idea What I'm Doing, Zak McClendon.

6 minutes and 39 seconds\[CLAPPING\]

6 minutes and 42 secondsTIM: Come on up here, Zak.

6 minutes and 43 secondsUh, the internal.

6 minutes and 44 secondsNow it's time to see who you all voted for.

6 minutes and 46 secondsBut your official selection for the internal vote is

6 minutes and 50 secondsKiln by Derek Brand.

6 minutes and 51 seconds-\[CHEERING\] -TIM: Yeah, Derek Brand!

6 minutes and 52 seconds\[CLAPPING\]

6 minutes and 55 secondsTIM: Come on up, sir!

6 minutes and 58 secondsYay!

6 minutes and 59 secondsGood job, good job!

7 minutes and 0 secondsAnd now the external voting.

7 minutes and 2 secondsMy heart is pounding a little bit.

7 minutes and 3 seconds\[LAUGHTER\]

7 minutes and 4 seconds\[TIM SIGHS\]

7 minutes and 7 seconds\[TIM EXHALES\]

7 minutes and 11 secondsDarwin's Dinner, Devin Kelly-Sneed.

7 minutes and 13 seconds\[CHEERING\]

7 minutes and 17 secondsAnd the final one! Oh, this can't be right.

7 minutes and 19 secondsThis breaks a lot of rules.

7 minutes and 21 secondsThe Gods Must Be Hungry, Asif Siddiky.

7 minutes and 23 seconds\[CHEERING\]

7 minutes and 24 secondsTIM: Holy cow!

7 minutes and 25 secondsCome on, Asif! Come here!

7 minutes and 28 secondsCome here!

7 minutes and 29 seconds\[CLAPPING\]

7 minutes and 33 secondsThe fourth wall!

7 minutes and 35 secondsThe fourth wall just crumbled.

7 minutes and 37 secondsYeah, we don't even know if he shows up on videotape.

7 minutes and 40 seconds-Stay over here! -\[LAUGHTER\]

7 minutes and 41 secondsNo! You don't get to hide anymore.

7 minutes and 43 secondsAnd you are going to learn about your friends!

7 minutes and 44 seconds\[KEE LAUGHS\]

7 minutes and 46 secondsYour friends at 2 Player Productions are probing...

7 minutes and 49 secondsAnd they are going to be asking-- putting you on the spot.

7 minutes and 51 seconds\[LAUGHTER\]

7 minutes and 52 secondsTIM: Yeah, Chad!

7 minutes and 54 seconds\[LAUGHTER\]

7 minutes and 56 secondsAll right! You only have two weeks!

7 minutes and 57 secondsGet to work! Okay, bye!

7 minutes and 58 seconds\[MUSIC\]

8 minutes and 31 secondsZAK: That was an idea-- idea for Bob's level.

8 minutes and 35 secondsUh... hello!

8 minutes and 37 secondsUh, Friday was Amnesia Fortnight madness.

8 minutes and 41 secondsUm, and today will be Amnesia Fortnight madness for me.

8 minutes and 45 seconds-Really? -ZAK: Uh, yes...

8 minutes and 46 secondsZAK: As I try to write a presentation to give to the team.

8 minutes and 49 seconds-\[LAUGHTER\] -Uh, to give to the future team.

8 minutes and 51 secondsMy-- my darling future team.

8 minutes and 53 secondsUm, also today...

8 minutes and 57 secondsWelcome, welcome!

8 minutes and 58 secondsThis is the next stage in our Amnesia Fortnight process

9 minutes and 2 secondswhere we have selected our games that we are making.

9 minutes and 4 secondsAnd the project leaders of those games are going to come up here

9 minutes and 7 secondsand tell the team at Double Fine about what those games are in more detail.

9 minutes and 11 secondsAnd the team gets to ask some questions.

9 minutes and 13 secondsBecause they are going to leave this room and they are going to go indicate

9 minutes and 15 secondswhich game they would most like to work on.

9 minutes and 17 secondsAnd then we will start the process of assigning the teams

9 minutes and 19 secondsand breaking up into four groups.

9 minutes and 21 secondsZAK: Hello, everyone!

9 minutes and 22 secondsUh, so, my game, which you probably heard of is called

9 minutes and 24 secondsI Have No Idea What I'm Doing.

9 minutes and 26 secondsI subtitled it here: "A VR parlor game."

9 minutes and 29 secondsSo, like, a parlor game is like charades or 20 questions

9 minutes and 31 secondsor something that you would play in a mixed group of people.

9 minutes and 34 secondsIt's really easy to get into.

9 minutes and 36 secondsIt's very rules light.

9 minutes and 37 secondsIt's silly, it's fun.

9 minutes and 38 secondsYou can kind of play it with anyone, anywhere.

9 minutes and 39 secondsWhich was sort of my goal for making this concept.

9 minutes and 42 secondsAnd the idea is that...

9 minutes and 44 seconds...one player is in VR

9 minutes and 46 secondsand they are thrown into a variety of strange and disorienting situations

9 minutes and 49 secondswhere they have no idea what they are supposed to do

9 minutes and 51 secondsor in fact, like, who they actually are.

9 minutes and 53 secondsAnd then, the people outside of VR,

9 minutes and 55 secondsall the rest of your friends,

9 minutes and 57 secondsare given clues that help-- give them some of the information

9 minutes and 59 secondsabout what you need to do,

10 minutes and 0 secondsbut they also need you to describe kind of what you are seeing,

10 minutes and 2 secondsand where you are, and: "I'm in a forest,

10 minutes and 4 secondsand I think I might be a bear or whatever."

10 minutes and 5 secondsUm...

10 minutes and 6 secondsAnd then you have to kind of yell back and forth

10 minutes and 9 secondsto try to figure out what to do in a very short amount of time.

10 minutes and 12 secondsZAK: It's basically just a minigame collection

10 minutes and 13 secondsat the end of the day.

10 minutes and 14 secondsUh, a VR minigame collection.

10 minutes and 16 secondsBut within that there is just a lot of open-endedness

10 minutes and 18 secondsfor each one of those interactions.

10 minutes and 20 secondsAnd then, there is just other, like, logistical stuff.

10 minutes and 22 secondsLike, we are developing for VR.

10 minutes and 23 secondsIt takes a lot of, like, start-up time.

10 minutes and 25 secondsIt's hard to test stuff at your desk.

10 minutes and 27 secondsSo, that whole, like, logistic part of it, um...

10 minutes and 30 secondsalso is going to be a big drain on the project.

10 minutes and 33 secondsSo, game setting...

10 minutes and 34 secondsUh, you are on an island with creatures.

10 minutes and 38 secondsThose creatures within a species

10 minutes and 41 secondsthey have natural variation among various traits, uh...

10 minutes and 44 secondsSize, speed, spikiness, things like that.

10 minutes and 48 secondsUh, and you can hunt the creatures to collect food.

10 minutes and 53 secondsBut the important there is the-- the, uh...

10 minutes and 56 secondsthe genetic algorithm for passing on the traits

11 minutes and 0 secondsthat are still present in the surviving population.

11 minutes and 4 secondsI mean, I'm not sure it's going to work at all.

11 minutes and 6 secondsUh...

11 minutes and 7 seconds\[CHUCKLES\]

11 minutes and 8 secondsI think we can make it work, but, like...

11 minutes and 10 secondsit could all go wrong.

11 minutes and 12 secondsUh... and that's fine.

11 minutes and 14 secondsI don't think it would be as interesting of a concept to prototype

11 minutes and 19 secondsif we knew it was going to work.

11 minutes and 21 secondsDEREK: Okay, hello!

11 minutes and 23 secondsUh...

11 minutes and 24 secondsThis is Kiln!

11 minutes and 26 seconds\[CHEERING\]

11 minutes and 30 secondsFirst of all, I wanted to thank you, guys

11 minutes and 31 secondsfor voting for Kiln.

11 minutes and 32 secondsUh...

11 minutes and 33 secondsI'm glad you saw some potential in this weird-ass project

11 minutes and 36 secondsand I can't wait to work on it with you.

11 minutes and 37 secondsJust as an overview, this is a third-person game.

11 minutes and 40 secondsMultiplayer team-based brawler.

11 minutes and 42 secondsAnd you have two teams,

11 minutes and 44 secondsand you play as these little useless spirits.

11 minutes and 48 secondsAnd this is a magic pottery wheel

11 minutes and 50 secondsthat your little spirit can use to craft a body for himself

11 minutes and 54 secondsthat he can go and try to beat up the other-- other side.

11 minutes and 59 secondsAnd the way that we are going to do that is to take this idea of minigames

12 minutes and 3 secondsand make them huge.

12 minutes and 5 secondsAnd you are going to be small within that.

12 minutes and 7 secondsAnd you will be running around and guiding the ingredients

12 minutes and 10 secondsthrough these ridiculous cooking contraptions

12 minutes and 13 secondsin order to get them ready for plating.

12 minutes and 16 secondsI'll be honest I don't really know exactly what I need, just because...

12 minutes and 20 seconds\[LAUGHTER\]

12 minutes and 21 seconds...I have not done this before ever.

12 minutes and 24 secondsUh...

12 minutes and 25 secondsBut this is sort of what I'm turning in.

12 minutes and 27 secondsAnd, yeah, I am pretty much a baby at game design.

12 minutes and 32 secondsUm, so...

12 minutes and 33 secondsAnyone who wants to step in and work on that with me

12 minutes and 37 secondsin making this fun, uh... I could really use your help.

12 minutes and 41 secondsPAUL: But just by having observed game development

12 minutes and 43 secondsfor the past eight-- however long it's been, number of years,

12 minutes and 48 secondsthat you have a slightly better expectation

12 minutes and 51 secondsof how things happen and how it will come together.

12 minutes and 54 secondsYeah, I mean, you would think so, right?

12 minutes and 56 secondsIt's just, like...

12 minutes and 57 secondsI can watch every episode of CSI

13 minutes and 0 secondsand I have no idea how to, like, solve an actual crime.

13 minutes and 2 secondsSo, I think...

13 minutes and 4 secondswhat's going to happen in the next two weeks

13 minutes and 5 secondsis going to be the real learning experience.

13 minutes and 7 secondsAsif is trying to hide behind the camera.

13 minutes and 9 secondsCome this way, come here.

13 minutes and 10 secondsThis way, Asif. Yeah, this side.

13 minutes and 13 secondsThis side, see that? Look at that!

13 minutes and 14 secondsRight there, look at that! See that?

13 minutes and 16 secondsPlease summon your first team member.

13 minutes and 18 seconds-Uh, Brian! -In the most dramatic way possible!

13 minutes and 20 secondsTIM: That wasn't very dramatic. Yeah, Brian!

13 minutes and 22 seconds\[CLAPPING\]

13 minutes and 23 seconds-Zak. -Aaron!

13 minutes and 25 secondsTIM: Aaron!

13 minutes and 26 seconds\[MUSIC\]

13 minutes and 27 secondsYep!

13 minutes and 30 secondsTIM: All right, where is... Devin!

13 minutes and 32 secondsSay Oh!

13 minutes and 35 secondsZAK: Rusty!

13 minutes and 36 seconds\[CHEERING\] -ANDY: I'm here, I'm here!

13 minutes and 41 secondsTIM: Oh-h! That's, oh-h...

13 minutes and 42 secondsThat was awkward.

13 minutes and 44 secondsTim, you want to come over here?

13 minutes and 45 seconds-Yeah, yeah, yeah, sure. -Woo!

13 minutes and 48 secondsYeah, I would, but it sounds hard.

13 minutes and 49 secondsAll right! May the odds be ever in your favor!

13 minutes and 53 secondsGo, team!

14 minutes and 1 secondPAUL: So...

14 minutes and 2 secondsIt's AF again.

14 minutes and 3 seconds-Yeah! -PAUL: And you are here!

14 minutes and 5 secondsYeah.

14 minutes and 7 secondsUh... yeah.

14 minutes and 9 secondsAnd, um, helping out with whatever.

14 minutes and 10 secondsPAUL: Which projects are you going to work on? All of them?

14 minutes and 13 secondsWhatever anyone wants me to do.

14 minutes and 15 secondsI was kind of hoping to do some, like, background rocks in Kiln.

14 minutes and 21 secondsI think that would be cool.

14 minutes and 22 secondsAnd I've been doing concept for, uh...

14 minutes and 26 secondsGods Must Be Hungry.

14 minutes and 28 secondsASIF: A lot of stuff is a little bit alien to me.

14 minutes and 30 secondsEspecially, like, where 3D lighting is concerned,

14 minutes and 33 secondsyou know, and stuff like that.

14 minutes and 34 secondsAnd, uh...

14 minutes and 36 secondsI felt like I had...

14 minutes and 38 seconds...maybe five different things that I needed to do.

14 minutes and 41 secondsAnd time enough to do two of them.

14 minutes and 44 secondsIt wasn't, like, a lot of busy work.

14 minutes and 45 secondsIt was a lot of, like...

14 minutes and 47 secondsgiving people direction on stuff.

14 minutes and 50 secondsI've turned the cooking process into something physical.

14 minutes and 53 secondsSo, not abstracting it with a minigame,

14 minutes and 55 secondsbut physically carrying stuff around,

14 minutes and 58 secondsmanipulating them in the pan, running them through, like, giant blades

15 minutes and 1 secondif you need to chop them.

15 minutes and 3 secondsASIF: Everyone here is amazing and they know, that, like...

15 minutes and 5 secondsI need help.

15 minutes and 6 secondsSo, like, they are taking a lot of ownership

15 minutes and 9 secondsover their respective roles.

15 minutes and 10 secondsUm, and that's helping a lot too.

15 minutes and 12 secondsSo, we can end up having, like, screens and modern technology

15 minutes and 15 secondsbut as long as there is, like, the old stuff there as well.

15 minutes and 18 seconds-Yeah, I really like that a lot. -I think that'll be good.

15 minutes and 20 secondsJust having, like, a clay oven or something would be pretty rad.

15 minutes and 24 secondsASIF: I'll pick your brain and pick a face.

15 minutes and 28 secondsWARD: Face.

15 minutes and 30 secondsThis one has a mask.

15 minutes and 31 seconds\[ASIF LAUGHS\]

15 minutes and 33 secondsWARD: It's got a lot of accessories.

15 minutes and 35 seconds-WARD: I know you want this one. -ASIF: Yeah.

15 minutes and 37 secondsSo, do you just want to do this one?

15 minutes and 38 secondsUh, let me see the other one again.

15 minutes and 39 seconds\[WARD CHUCKLES\]

15 minutes and 42 secondsZAK: We had a really great brainstorm.

15 minutes and 44 secondsGenerated lots, and lots of ideas.

15 minutes and 45 secondsSo, I have to go through that and figure out

15 minutes and 47 secondswhat the things we are going to build as sort of pilot content.

15 minutes and 49 secondsZAK: You are a vampire and you are trying to do your makeup,

15 minutes and 51 secondsbut you can't see your face, so...

15 minutes and 53 secondsHow do vampires do their makeup?

15 minutes and 56 seconds-ANNA: Ooh! -\[ZAK LAUGHS\]

15 minutes and 58 secondsANNA: That's a good one! Actually, that's great!

15 minutes and 59 secondsWhat if-- what if, like, yeah, what if you had to paint your face,

16 minutes and 2 secondsand people were telling you: "A little over to the left."

16 minutes and 4 secondsOh, yeah!

16 minutes and 5 secondsAnd the people on the outside could see what you are doing.

16 minutes and 7 secondsZAK: And also Pendleton Ward showed up,

16 minutes and 10 secondsand came to our brainstorm,

16 minutes and 12 secondsand did some little doodles of stuff.

16 minutes and 13 secondsAnd, um... that was a pleasant surprise.

16 minutes and 15 secondsLike, you are going to see an old lady in a chair,

16 minutes and 17 secondsand you are a ghost,

16 minutes and 18 secondsand you might be able to have enough time to recognize that you are transparent,

16 minutes and 21 secondsand then you are just going to go like this...

16 minutes and 22 seconds\[ZAK LAUGHS\]

16 minutes and 23 secondsAnd then you are going to scare the person, right?

16 minutes and 26 secondsThirty seconds? I guess thirty seconds can last longer...

16 minutes and 29 secondsAll right, so wait! And then Anna had one.

16 minutes and 31 seconds-And then we actually do have to be done. -ANNA: It's fine, it's okay.

16 minutes and 32 secondsBecause I don't want to do this forever.

16 minutes and 34 secondsWhat I'd like to do is, like...

16 minutes and 36 secondsAll right, let's get the one more first!

16 minutes and 37 seconds-ANNA: No, no, it's fine, we shouldn't. -Do it!

16 minutes and 38 seconds-What is it? What is it?! -ANNA: No, no, no, it's dumb!

16 minutes and 40 secondsIt could be the best idea! It could be the...

16 minutes and 42 seconds-ANNA: No, no, no. -All right.

16 minutes and 43 secondsAARON: So, yeah, one core feature for our game

16 minutes and 45 secondsis that we need to have interaction between the person who is in VR,

16 minutes and 48 secondsand the people who are outside.

16 minutes and 50 secondsUm, and so, one way of doing that would be

16 minutes and 53 secondsrendering one scene for the person in the VR headset,

16 minutes and 56 secondsand then show something completely different on the TV.

16 minutes and 59 secondsBeing Day 1 it's not-- not too bad.

17 minutes and 1 secondBut I'm hoping to get this taken care of sooner rather than later,

17 minutes and 4 secondsbecause everything depends on it pretty heavily.

17 minutes and 6 secondsZAK: Emily and the art team worked on kind of initial art direction.

17 minutes and 9 secondsYou can actually see-- if you see it on my screen.

17 minutes and 11 secondsThis sort of, like, very, very bold, flat colors.

17 minutes and 14 secondsNot a lot of detail, texture, and material work.

17 minutes and 16 secondsUm, kind of going for, like, you know, rubberized plastic sort of look.

17 minutes and 20 secondsLike plasticine clay.

17 minutes and 22 secondsUm, which should look, like, very iconic, very bold shapes,

17 minutes and 25 secondsvery easy to see.

17 minutes and 26 secondsAlso very easy to make.

17 minutes and 31 secondsDEVIN: Geoff was building the world.

17 minutes and 32 secondsSilvio set up the basic project.

17 minutes and 34 secondsWhich I kind of dropped a default a character in.

17 minutes and 37 secondsGabe spent some time working on tuning the camera.

17 minutes and 41 secondsSo, we have the kind of camera angle that we are looking for.

17 minutes and 43 secondsAnd then, we've just had a whole bunch of meetings

17 minutes and 45 secondsto kind of plan out things that we want to do.

17 minutes and 49 secondsGEOFF: Silvio is still wrestling with, like, getting the light maps to build, so.

17 minutes and 52 secondsYeah, he is having problems

17 minutes and 53 secondswith Incredibuild on the build machine too.

17 minutes and 54 secondsThis is what our environment looks like right now.

17 minutes and 56 seconds-Yeah, I walked by, like, ten minutes ago. -\[GEOFF LAUGHS\]

17 minutes and 58 secondsAnd it was great, because, like, on this screen you had this,

18 minutes and 0 secondsand on the screen there was, like, search results like:

18 minutes and 3 seconds-"Why is my landscape black?" -Yeah!

18 minutes and 4 seconds\[GEOFF LAUGHS\]

18 minutes and 6 secondsGEOFF: Like, things like this...

18 minutes and 8 seconds...look simple,

18 minutes and 9 secondsbut are deceptively difficult to make in 3D.

18 minutes and 13 secondsDEVIN: Yeah, and so...

18 minutes and 14 secondsI'm much more concerned about us being able to make the stuff,

18 minutes and 17 secondsbecause we only have two weeks.

18 minutes and 18 secondsLike, if that seems impossible, don't do that.

18 minutes and 19 seconds-GEOFF: Yeah. -\[LAUGHTER\]

18 minutes and 22 secondsUh...

18 minutes and 23 secondsWe don't have room for, like, multiple impossible tasks on one project.

18 minutes and 25 secondsGEOFF: Yeah.

18 minutes and 27 seconds\[CHATTERING\]

18 minutes and 28 seconds-PAUL: There is so much noise! -DEREK: Yeah.

18 minutes and 31 secondsPAUL: This is a nice, quiet pod.

18 minutes and 33 secondsI know, it's so quiet.

18 minutes and 34 secondsYou guys were in our meeting this morning briefly.

18 minutes and 36 seconds-PAUL: Yeah. -DEREK: It was very quiet.

18 minutes and 37 secondsPAUL: Yeah, a nice quiet team.

18 minutes and 38 secondsDEREK: Yeah, it is a quiet team. I like it.

18 minutes and 39 seconds-\[LAUGHTER\] -It's a good-- it's a good quiet team.

18 minutes and 42 secondsYeah, the bong wins again.

18 minutes and 44 seconds\[LAUGHTER\]

18 minutes and 46 secondsMATT: The idea starts with one person's experiences,

18 minutes and 48 secondsand knowledge, and, um...

18 minutes and 51 secondsand, you know, creative influence.

18 minutes and 53 secondsAnd then, when...

18 minutes and 55 secondsthere is a team working on it,

18 minutes and 56 secondsyou then get everybody's ideas kind of coming together.

19 minutes and 0 secondsAnd that person helps filter it.

19 minutes and 2 secondsYou know, I wouldn't pressure anything that Derek wasn't comfortable with.

19 minutes and 6 secondsSo, we are kind of building this tree of possibility space of where

19 minutes and 9 secondsall the possible games that could be made from that core idea.

19 minutes and 12 secondsAnd he is trimming the tree as we are going.

19 minutes and 15 secondsUm...

19 minutes and 16 secondsAnd, uh, so, it's-- It's fun to explore that.

19 minutes and 19 secondsTUCKER: How do you guys feel about...

19 minutes and 21 seconds...like, having there be, like, an objective about carrying water

19 minutes and 23 secondsversus just trying to destroy the other teams.

19 minutes and 26 secondsWater-- water is--

19 minutes and 28 secondsIt's essentially like a-- Like the flag in a CTF map, right?

19 minutes and 32 secondsLike, there is a fountain that has water, and you...

19 minutes and 34 secondsYeah, there is a fountain or a waterfall in the center.

19 minutes and 36 secondsJEREMY: And you grab it, and then you have to--

19 minutes and 37 secondsYou have to get to the fountain and then get to their base...

19 minutes and 39 secondsDEREK: Then get to their base...

19 minutes and 40 seconds...and dump it.

19 minutes and 41 secondsDEREK: I wasn't sure what to expect.

19 minutes and 42 secondsUh, I've never...

19 minutes and 43 seconds...made a game like this at all.

19 minutes and 45 secondsUh...

19 minutes and 46 secondsNever made a multiplayer game for one,

19 minutes and 47 secondsand I've never made a game that relied on physics at all.

19 minutes and 50 secondsAnd, uh...

19 minutes and 52 secondsI've never made a game really.

19 minutes and 53 secondsI've been a concept artist on a game.

19 minutes and 55 secondsSo, I'm just kind of going in

19 minutes and 56 secondsand trusting the people that I'm working with.

19 minutes and 58 secondsZAK: How is everybody feeling? It's really quiet.

20 minutes and 0 secondsIs it because the cameras are here?

20 minutes and 1 secondOr is it because we are looking at a broken game?

20 minutes and 3 secondsIt's the camera?

20 minutes and 5 secondsThere is a strong chance that we just go down a rabbit hole on basic bugs.

20 minutes and 8 secondsAnd I feel like this, like...

20 minutes and 10 secondsI feel like that demonstrates amazing progress!

20 minutes and 13 secondsCan somebody write down, um: "Get physics working on the hands."

20 minutes and 17 secondsAs a task.

20 minutes and 18 secondsAMY: Would probably be under the whole: "Get physics working."

20 minutes and 21 secondsIt seems like it's a-- It seems like--

20 minutes and 23 secondsAMY: All related.

20 minutes and 24 secondsZAK: Yeah, well, okay. All right.

20 minutes and 25 secondsWell, then you'll get both tasks and you'll be able to do both of them at once.

20 minutes and 27 secondsWill be very exciting.

20 minutes and 30 secondsPAUL: Just now when you were playing the game.

20 minutes and 31 secondsWere you like: "I'm having fun!"

20 minutes and 33 secondsZAK: No, not yet.

20 minutes and 34 secondsI think the thing I'm waiting for is

20 minutes and 37 secondswhen we actually get the sort of social fun

20 minutes and 39 secondsof people outside of VR yelling at somebody in VR

20 minutes and 42 secondswho is doing something ridiculous, and they are laughing back and forth.

20 minutes and 44 secondsAny wake-up calls about what we are making,

20 minutes and 47 secondsum, we'll get those pretty fast, because there'll be, like, total randos--

20 minutes and 50 secondsnot total randos, our lovable coworkers will be playing our game

20 minutes and 53 secondsand giving us quality, stern feedback on the product as we go, so.

20 minutes and 58 secondsWe are getting there. We got a little floppy--

20 minutes and 59 secondsa little floppy fly swatter.

21 minutes and 1 secondThat's-- It's, like, jointed.

21 minutes and 2 secondsIt's, like-- It's weird.

21 minutes and 4 secondsZAK: Yeah, it does. We'll get there.

21 minutes and 7 secondsUm, I have to leave today and tomorrow at five.

21 minutes and 10 secondsBecause my wife is out of town,

21 minutes and 12 secondsso I have to pick the kids and feed them, and all the rest of that stuff.

21 minutes and 14 secondsUm, I will be in on Sunday.

21 minutes and 16 secondsJust trying to do catch-up and work ahead...

21 minutes and 19 seconds-PAUL: So... -\[ASIF SIGHS\]

21 minutes and 20 secondsPAUL: Seemed like a good day.

21 minutes and 21 secondsYou had a pretty productive meeting in the morning.

21 minutes and 23 secondsASIF: The meeting this morning was very productive.

21 minutes and 25 secondsUm...

21 minutes and 26 secondsYeah, I guess we can just go through this first one.

21 minutes and 30 secondsAnd then, you know, stop me if anything sounds crazy to you.

21 minutes and 32 secondsOr, like: "We can't do that."

21 minutes and 34 secondsOr: "I have an amazing idea for how to do this."

21 minutes and 37 secondsStarting with the, uh, shrimp car wash.

21 minutes and 39 secondsGAVIN: Sounds crazy to me.

21 minutes and 40 seconds-ASIF: Oop, all right, meeting is over. -\[GAVIN LAUGHS\]

21 minutes and 42 secondsYou want to give a certain amount-- a dose of, like:

21 minutes and 44 seconds"Wait, I'm not sure if we want to do that."

21 minutes and 46 secondsBut you don't want to do that too much,

21 minutes and 48 secondsbecause then it really stems, like...

21 minutes and 51 secondsthe creative output, especially at the beginning of the project.

21 minutes and 53 secondsAnd, like, that's-- that's not a good way to go either.

21 minutes and 56 secondsASIF: Now I feel like everyone knows what they are doing.

21 minutes and 57 secondsAnd everyone is just sort of off and doing that.

22 minutes and 1 secondPAUL: Has this been, uh...

22 minutes and 3 secondsharder than the documentary?

22 minutes and 4 secondsFor Amnesia Fortnight specifically.

22 minutes and 7 secondsUh...

22 minutes and 8 secondsNo.

22 minutes and 9 secondsNo, because...

22 minutes and 11 secondsthat was insane!

22 minutes and 12 secondsNo... no one should do that.

22 minutes and 14 secondsI don't know why you guys are doing it.

22 minutes and 16 secondsI think the biggest difference is that...

22 minutes and 18 secondsdespite how busy it is

22 minutes and 21 secondsand how much there is going on and how stressed I feel sometimes, like...

22 minutes and 24 secondsthere are also the moments where I get to, like...

22 minutes and 28 secondshave that, like, creative rush.

22 minutes and 30 secondsAnd...

22 minutes and 31 secondsit's easy to get sort of high off of that.

22 minutes and 33 secondsWhereas like when we were doing the doc, like...

22 minutes and 36 secondswe are just in, like, this weird zombie state,

22 minutes and 38 secondsbecause we are not sleeping and, like...

22 minutes and 39 secondseven though I know that I've edited

22 minutes and 41 secondsthe episode that I just shot yesterday to my satisfaction,

22 minutes and 45 secondsuh, I'm still super tired and just, like, not here.

22 minutes and 47 secondsThe only thing that, like-- I would say that we've--

22 minutes and 49 secondsI don't think we've ever gotten on camera is just, like...

22 minutes and 53 secondsjust finding, like, a secluded corner somewhere.

22 minutes and 56 secondsJust to, like, hide for five minutes.

22 minutes and 58 secondsI needed to do that today for sure.

23 minutes and 0 secondsI just, like, went upstairs to the floor above us

23 minutes and 2 secondsand just, like... stood in the hallway for a few minutes.

23 minutes and 5 secondsAnd didn't, like, look at my phone or, like, think about anything.

23 minutes and 8 secondsAnd then I came back and I was fine.

23 minutes and 9 secondsI'm having a lot more sympathy for everyone that's, like...

23 minutes and 12 secondsled the projects before, and for Tim especially.

23 minutes and 22 secondsSometimes I just come into that room and just take a...

23 minutes and 25 seconds-ASIF: Well... -Take a what?

23 minutes and 26 secondsI was going to say something, but I realized I was being filmed.

23 minutes and 29 seconds\[GREG LAUGHS\]

23 minutes and 30 seconds(Take a big dump.)

23 minutes and 33 secondsPAUL: What's Jared doing back there?

23 minutes and 34 secondsHe is modeling butts.

23 minutes and 36 seconds-I can't stop him. -JARED: So many butts!

23 minutes and 37 secondsHe is... unstoppable.

23 minutes and 39 secondsI got some butt-cheek sim on them.

23 minutes and 40 seconds\[LAUGHTER\]

23 minutes and 43 secondsDEREK: Matt got some work done on the pottery tech.

23 minutes and 46 seconds-DEREK: So we can make... -MIYUKI: Pots, go!

23 minutes and 48 seconds\[MIYUKI VOCALIZES POTS REVVING UP\]

23 minutes and 53 secondsPots, go!

23 minutes and 55 seconds\[MIYUKI VOCALIZES POTS REVVING UP\]

23 minutes and 59 seconds\[CAMDEN AND MIYUKI LAUGH\]

24 minutes and 1 second-WARD: That's great! -That was kind of fun!

24 minutes and 2 seconds-\[MIYUKI LAUGHS\] -DEREK: That was awesome!

24 minutes and 4 secondsCAMDEN: It was hard not to laugh.

24 minutes and 5 secondsDEREK: I had the smile on my face the whole time.

24 minutes and 7 secondsOh god!

24 minutes and 8 secondsPAUL: You were here the last Tim when Derek led a project.

24 minutes and 11 seconds-Yeah. -PAUL: Do you feel like...

24 minutes and 13 secondsPAUL: ...you've observed him...

24 minutes and 15 secondsDude, that guy is chill as hell right now.

24 minutes and 18 secondsLast time he was chill,

24 minutes and 19 secondsbut you could him just being like: "I'm not sure."

24 minutes and 22 secondsAnd then, this time...

24 minutes and 24 secondsEvery time he talks to me, he has, like, the calmness in his eyes...

24 minutes and 28 secondsof, like...

24 minutes and 30 secondsa spiritual leader.

24 minutes and 31 secondsHe is like...

24 minutes and 33 seconds\[LAUGHTER\]

24 minutes and 35 seconds"Thanks for coming to work in here.

24 minutes and 37 secondsThanks a lot!"

24 minutes and 38 secondsPAUL: You are wearing this?

24 minutes and 39 secondsYes.

24 minutes and 40 secondsWell, I'm...

24 minutes and 42 secondsI'm running out of shirts.

24 minutes and 45 seconds-Um... -PAUL: You are trying to impress Pen.

24 minutes and 46 secondsActually, I didn't-- I forgot about that.

24 minutes and 50 secondsBut, no, I mean, I'm just running out of shirts.

24 minutes and 51 secondsGotta put on something.

25 minutes and 1 secondYeah, I don't think there is as many unknowns.

25 minutes and 4 secondsThis game...

25 minutes and 6 secondshas a lot of, uh...

25 minutes and 8 secondsmechanics that are kind of known quantities

25 minutes and 11 secondsthat we can just get up and running quickly

25 minutes and 13 secondswithout having to figure it out.

25 minutes and 15 secondsWe know how to do basic attacks,

25 minutes and 17 secondsand how to pick things up and drop them.

25 minutes and 19 secondsIt doesn't-- it doesn't need, like, a...

25 minutes and 21 secondsa brainstorm meeting to figure that stuff out.

25 minutes and 23 secondsPAUL: Are you happy with the art style you ended up with, Geoff?

25 minutes and 25 secondsGEOFF: Um, I mean...

25 minutes and 27 secondsI think if it was a different project,

25 minutes and 29 secondsI would have probably done things a little differently, but...

25 minutes and 31 secondsin the time we have right now, um...

25 minutes and 34 secondsI'm okay with it.

25 minutes and 35 secondsThe only--

25 minutes and 37 secondsYou know, nobody is really saying no to the shit I'm dicking around with, so.

25 minutes and 40 secondsThere is far more shine in this-- in this demo,

25 minutes and 43 secondsthan anything we've done in Psychonauts, so...

25 minutes and 46 seconds...that's nice.

25 minutes and 47 secondsPAUL: You like shiny?

25 minutes and 49 secondsGEOFF: Um, not necessarily, but--

25 minutes and 51 secondsbut, you know, we are really clamping it hard in--

25 minutes and 54 secondsin Psychonauts.

25 minutes and 55 secondsYou know, just because that's the style of game.

25 minutes and 57 secondsIt's nice to sort of work outside of that.

25 minutes and 59 secondsAnd just work on something different for a little while.

26 minutes and 1 secondRAY: It's fun. And then, the creatures...

26 minutes and 3 secondsThey are actually going to have a bunch of different parts.

26 minutes and 5 secondsAnd this would be, like, the base body.

26 minutes and 7 secondsAnd then, um...

26 minutes and 9 secondswe will actually swap out different pieces.

26 minutes and 12 seconds-Because they evolve, right? -Yeah.

26 minutes and 14 secondsSo, they have evolutionary traits.

26 minutes and 15 seconds\[KNOCKING AT THE DOOR\]

26 minutes and 17 secondsHold on. Someone is knocking at my office door.

26 minutes and 19 seconds-I'm being interviewed! Bye! -Bye!

26 minutes and 22 secondsSo, you know, it's a different feeling doing AF not there.

26 minutes and 27 secondsPAUL: I bet, yeah.

26 minutes and 28 secondsSo, I mean, it's still fun, but it's definitely, um...

26 minutes and 31 secondsdoesn't have the, uh...

26 minutes and 33 secondsthe energy that you get when you are actually on-site.

26 minutes and 37 secondsTIM: So, um, this would be the point

26 minutes and 39 secondswhere you come in, and you cry, and you say, like:

26 minutes and 41 seconds"It was a big mistake."

26 minutes and 42 secondsYou wish you would never signed up for this.

26 minutes and 43 secondsIt's all falling apart.

26 minutes and 45 secondsWon't I... stop it.

26 minutes and 48 secondsAnd then I say: "Cheer up!"

26 minutes and 50 secondsRight? Okay. So, go!

26 minutes and 52 secondsDEVIN: Uh...

26 minutes and 53 secondsI think everything is okay.

26 minutes and 55 seconds-\[TIM SIGHS\] -\[DEVIN LAUGHS\]

26 minutes and 57 secondsSorry, documentary guys.

26 minutes and 58 secondsJAMES: So, I have another question.

26 minutes and 59 secondsSorry for all these questions.

27 minutes and 0 secondsSo, what I would like to do in the mornings

27 minutes and 2 secondsis review what we did yesterday, see where we are.

27 minutes and 5 secondsIf there is things that people call out of, like

27 minutes and 7 seconds"We have to do this right now."

27 minutes and 8 secondsLet's add task.

27 minutes and 9 secondsIf it's just a general discussion about, like:

27 minutes and 11 seconds"Hey, what are we going to do about..."

27 minutes and 12 secondsWe should note it.

27 minutes and 14 secondsAnd then we'll do it after we finish sort of where we are.

27 minutes and 16 secondsYeah, the short version, we make the game not broken.

27 minutes and 18 secondsAnd then we can add polishy stuff-- all the polishy stuff later.

27 minutes and 21 secondsAARON: All right. So, yeah, what we are trying to do

27 minutes and 23 secondsis get text to show up on our TV.

27 minutes and 26 seconds-"Hit pickle with a racket." -"Hit pickle with a racket."

27 minutes and 29 secondsOh, Jesus!

27 minutes and 30 secondsRiveting narrative.

27 minutes and 31 secondsWait, why are they-- why are you throwing apples?

27 minutes and 33 seconds-\[AARON LAUGHS\] -AMY: What did you do?

27 minutes and 38 secondsGame development is a very serious job.

27 minutes and 40 secondsOh, wait! I forgot, that's my bad.

27 minutes and 42 seconds-Okay, you can run it again. -Okay.

27 minutes and 46 secondsPlease don't make me the bad guy of this documentary.

27 minutes and 48 seconds\[LAUGHTER\]

27 minutes and 49 secondsI really don't want to be the heel.

27 minutes and 50 secondsZAK: And we got-- James got all the, you know, scripting hooked up for it.

27 minutes and 53 secondsBut this was our first test of actually, like, running it at all, uh...

27 minutes and 57 secondsAnd it doesn't work yet.

27 minutes and 58 secondsSo, we had our giant brainstorm and had, I don't know...

28 minutes and 0 secondsa hundred ideas that were all-- all over the map.

28 minutes and 4 secondsAnd then as a team, we sat down and tried to figure out

28 minutes and 5 secondswhich ones we'd actually want to build.

28 minutes and 7 secondsZAK: Uh, speed, but on a butter churn.

28 minutes and 9 secondsUm, this is...

28 minutes and 11 secondsBasically, you've got a butter churn.

28 minutes and 12 secondsYou've got two butter churns, and you have to...

28 minutes and 14 seconds\[LAUGHTER\]

28 minutes and 15 secondsYou've got two butter churns.

28 minutes and 17 secondsAnd you have to churn butter.

28 minutes and 18 secondsAnd then, you get feedback on:

28 minutes and 20 seconds"This one has to go faster.

28 minutes and 22 secondsAnd this one has to go slower."

28 minutes and 23 secondsI know what the feedback would be.

28 minutes and 24 seconds\[LAUGHTER\]

28 minutes and 26 seconds-And so, you are going faster. -\[JAMES LAUGHS\]

28 minutes and 27 secondsYeah, butter churning.

28 minutes and 28 secondsJAMES: No, you are chafing! You are chafing!

28 minutes and 30 seconds\[LAUGHTER\]

28 minutes and 34 secondsIt's a very embarrassing game.

28 minutes and 37 secondsPAUL: That's the point.

28 minutes and 39 seconds\[RUSTY CHUCKLES\]

28 minutes and 40 secondsThat is the point.

28 minutes and 41 secondsYeah, because embarrassment is funny.

28 minutes and 45 secondsZAK: That one is clearly a winner!

28 minutes and 46 secondsIt's clearly a winner.

28 minutes and 47 secondsAnd so, like, one of them would have to go slow,

28 minutes and 49 secondsand the other one would have to go fast.

28 minutes and 50 seconds-\[LAUGHTER\] -AARON: Oh my god!

28 minutes and 52 secondsJAMES: Different strokes for different folks.

28 minutes and 53 seconds\[LAUGHTER\]

28 minutes and 57 seconds\[ASIF HUMS\]

28 minutes and 59 secondsASIF: I came in today feeling pretty rested.

29 minutes and 2 secondsAnd now I don't feel that way at all, so, yeah.

29 minutes and 4 secondsSo, while I know that a lot got done today.

29 minutes and 6 secondsI just feel like: "What did we even do today?"

29 minutes and 8 secondsYou know what I mean? Like...

29 minutes and 10 secondsI'm sure that when I go back and, like, look at the Slack,

29 minutes and 12 secondsthere is actually, like, a tone of stuff that got done, but...

29 minutes and 14 secondsThis was the fastest feeling day by far.

29 minutes and 17 seconds-PAUL: Malena arrived today as well. -ASIF: Mm-hmm.

29 minutes and 19 secondsPAUL: What is she going to be doing on the project?

29 minutes and 21 secondsASIF: Like, right away she hit the ground running,

29 minutes and 23 secondsum, sitting down with Spaff and, like...

29 minutes and 25 secondsum, hashing out, like, the initial direction that I gave them

29 minutes and 29 secondsfor writing the characters and all the dialogue and stuff.

29 minutes and 32 secondsMALENA: I have a desk, but I haven't sat in it once

29 minutes and 34 secondswhich is awesome.

29 minutes and 35 secondsBecause at home I'm pretty much tethered to my desk.

29 minutes and 39 secondsWhat I saw in today's meeting looked really great.

29 minutes and 41 secondsAnd I feel like...

29 minutes and 43 secondsOr I hope that we are at that point where shit just starts going in.

29 minutes and 48 secondsAnd it gets exponentially better.

29 minutes and 50 secondsRYAN: And I guess maybe picking one of them up.

29 minutes and 52 secondsThose probably are not big enough.

29 minutes and 53 secondsBut whatever I'm just starting to stub things in

29 minutes and 55 secondsbased on some of the cool concepts that have been done.

29 minutes and 57 secondsOh, and of course, like I'd mentioned, uh...

29 minutes and 59 secondswe got Paul's initial steamer basket in.

30 minutes and 2 secondsSo, that's kind of--

30 minutes and 3 secondsIt's fun. Fun to see stuff happening.

30 minutes and 5 secondsPAUL: What's going on? Why are you the only person building stuff?

30 minutes and 7 secondsThat is a good question!

30 minutes and 10 secondsI made a bread dough ball.

30 minutes and 12 secondsSome nori sheets.

30 minutes and 15 secondsI think he had full confidence...

30 minutes and 16 secondsthat I was going to be able to do everything.

30 minutes and 19 secondsSo...

30 minutes and 20 secondsASIF: And, uh... And Pen too, he was saying--

30 minutes and 22 secondsLike, he is leaving tomorrow.

30 minutes and 23 secondsHe is going back home, but, uh...

30 minutes and 25 secondsHe said that he is happy to just continue modeling stuff from home for us, so.

30 minutes and 29 secondsWe are really lucky to have him do that.

30 minutes and 31 seconds\[MUSIC\]

30 minutes and 33 secondsASIF: By the end of the week we can have all of, like, the major props in.

30 minutes and 37 secondsSo, we'll see how all that stuff is looking.

30 minutes and 39 secondsAnd, you know...

30 minutes and 41 secondsI think it's just going to get crazy in the last two days next week.

30 minutes and 44 seconds\[MUSIC\]

31 minutes and 4 secondsMan! What's happening here?!

31 minutes and 6 secondsThis looks great!

31 minutes and 8 seconds\[MUSIC\]

31 minutes and 21 seconds\[JAMES SCREAMS\]

31 minutes and 24 secondsPerfect.

31 minutes and 25 secondsPEN: And... cut.

31 minutes and 27 secondsAnd cut.

31 minutes and 29 secondsZAK: It's hard to sort what actually got done.

31 minutes and 31 secondsSo, maybe we can just go around

31 minutes and 32 secondsand we can talk about what got done yesterday.

31 minutes and 34 secondsThe game got running!

31 minutes and 37 secondsWhich is awesome. You guys--

31 minutes and 37 secondsSo, you guys solved the major mysteries...

31 minutes and 41 seconds-...of why things were not working. -Some of them.

31 minutes and 43 secondsUh... yes.

31 minutes and 45 seconds\[AARON CHUCKLES\]

31 minutes and 46 secondsPAUL: Sitting through the meetings

31 minutes and 47 secondsand seeing the programmers freaking out about VR

31 minutes and 49 secondsand getting things to work,

31 minutes and 50 secondsdoes it make you glad that you are not a programmer?

31 minutes and 53 secondsI never want to be a programmer.

31 minutes and 56 secondsNever ever. It's all magic to me.

31 minutes and 58 secondsMy brain doesn't function well enough anymore to be a programmer.

32 minutes and 1 secondAMY: Which ones do you guys want to play?

32 minutes and 3 secondsAARON: Whatever is working.

32 minutes and 5 seconds-Yes! -AMY: Yeah.

32 minutes and 8 secondsZAK: There we go.

32 minutes and 9 secondsAARON: This is-- It's, you know-- it's here.

32 minutes and 11 seconds-ZAK: Down, yeah. -AMY: Yeah.

32 minutes and 12 seconds-AMY: We can change the offset, but... -Can you see? Does the periscope work?

32 minutes and 14 secondsYeah.

32 minutes and 16 secondsI have no right hand, but...

32 minutes and 18 seconds-AMY: Yes. -I can't see what the periscope sees.

32 minutes and 20 secondsZAK: We still don't have one actual game up and running.

32 minutes and 23 secondsIf we don't get it working fast enough, we won't have enough time

32 minutes and 26 secondsto actually polish and make it good.

32 minutes and 29 secondsAnd so, the biggest risk would be...

32 minutes and 31 secondsit's a big pile of nonsense garbage at the end.

32 minutes and 34 secondsJust the usual, just the usual problems.

32 minutes and 35 secondsBut don't you think at the end you'll be able to say, like:

32 minutes and 37 seconds"Hey, I told you guys!"

32 minutes and 38 seconds-Yeah, exactly, like, I've got-- I know! -TIM: I have no idea what I'm doing!

32 minutes and 40 secondsI know, I've got my ass covered.

32 minutes and 42 seconds-TIM: It was literally in my pitch! -That's right!

32 minutes and 44 secondsMight as well-- called it Don't Pick This Game.

32 minutes and 46 secondsZAK: Don't Pick This Game...

32 minutes and 47 seconds-...Tim. -ZAK: ...Tim.

32 minutes and 48 secondsYeah, this is my personal pick, so you can't... mess this up.

32 minutes and 52 secondsZAK: Yeah, I mean, this is not testable in this state, so.

32 minutes and 54 seconds-Wait, why is the hand... -Yeah, the hand is below.

32 minutes and 58 secondsAMY: Without figuring out that scale that is very specific,

33 minutes and 1 secondit's unplayable!

33 minutes and 2 secondsZAK: Okay, so this is what I'm confused about.

33 minutes and 3 seconds-ZAK: So, the offset is... -AARON: I'm confused too.

33 minutes and 4 secondsZAK: You are just setting a waterline to the eye height.

33 minutes and 6 secondsIf we did that, you wouldn't be able to reach any of the islands.

33 minutes and 10 secondsUnless they were all tiny and right next to you.

33 minutes and 12 secondsYeah, I get what you mean by that.

33 minutes and 14 secondsI don't-- I don't get what you mean by that.

33 minutes and 16 secondsZAK: Yeah, but this is...

33 minutes and 17 secondsAMY: This is what you have to do.

33 minutes and 18 secondsWell, no, I mean, this is what you have to do.

33 minutes and 21 secondsLike, you are just looking above--

33 minutes and 22 secondsLike, if this was the waterline and I can't see what's up here

33 minutes and 25 secondsand I'm doing this...

33 minutes and 26 secondsand I pick up this.

33 minutes and 28 secondsI-- I guess I'm--

33 minutes and 29 secondsI'm worried that we are just talking about different things.

33 minutes and 32 secondsNo, I think we are talking about the same thing.

33 minutes and 33 secondsAnd there may be some sort of limitation with the hand tracking

33 minutes and 37 secondsthat makes that really hard to do without making things a tiny scale.

33 minutes and 42 secondsLike, it's-- it's weird.

33 minutes and 44 secondsAARON: I'm confused about what the periscope sees right now.

33 minutes and 46 secondsWhy are there no islands? And no water, and...

33 minutes and 48 secondsAMY: It's down under for some reason.

33 minutes and 53 secondsAll right, let me know when we have sort of seen everything we can see.

33 minutes and 55 secondsThis is just... talking about this one particular one, so.

33 minutes and 58 secondsThat was our playtest for today!

34 minutes and 0 secondsZAK: Um...

34 minutes and 1 secondAMY: I'm sure we'll figure it out when we sit down and actually...

34 minutes and 5 secondsuh, try to place it.

34 minutes and 7 secondsSo, what are you doing with the racket?

34 minutes and 11 secondsYou said the racket was broken!

34 minutes and 12 secondsYou have to grab it and it should go to the next task.

34 minutes and 15 seconds-Well, did you grab the racket? -JAMES: Yes.

34 minutes and 18 seconds-Let's do that again. -JAMES: Okay!

34 minutes and 24 secondsDEVIN: Uh, something was broken.

34 minutes and 26 secondsThey were going to have to, like... redo a bunch of things again.

34 minutes and 30 secondsUh, I don't know.

34 minutes and 32 secondsI didn't-- I didn't understand.

34 minutes and 33 secondsI wasn't getting all of the details.

34 minutes and 35 secondsI was also trying to, like, do work.

34 minutes and 37 seconds\[LAUGHTER\]

34 minutes and 39 secondsIs this going to aid in your...

34 minutes and 41 seconds-...project leading? -It's going to be a disaster.

34 minutes and 42 seconds-Yeah? -Yeah.

34 minutes and 44 secondsThere is-- there is more of this.

34 minutes and 45 seconds-There is more whiskey. -I know, I'm looking forward to it.

34 minutes and 49 secondsSo, when you really, like, trying to figure out

34 minutes and 51 secondswhat the true difference between the disciplines

34 minutes and 53 secondsof folks who make video games...

34 minutes and 55 secondsThe undeniable one is that

34 minutes and 57 secondsprogrammers cannot program while drinking.

35 minutes and 0 secondsWhereas artists and designers are like: "We are okay."

35 minutes and 2 secondsDEVIN: That's-- so, you are just basically drunk all day?

35 minutes and 5 secondsIs that how you crank all that art?

35 minutes and 7 seconds-Trying to keep the lines loose. -LEE: I wish!

35 minutes and 8 secondsIt works really well in video games!

35 minutes and 10 secondsYou are like: "I just wanted to stay loose with this,

35 minutes and 11 secondsso I just checked in this polygon soup, and...

35 minutes and 14 secondsclicked the button.

35 minutes and 15 secondsSomebody else fix this shit!"

35 minutes and 16 seconds-Headlander. -\[LAUGHTER\]

35 minutes and 18 secondsPAUL: So, something, um... we definitely observed is

35 minutes and 20 secondsthat Silvio was frustrated about something.

35 minutes and 22 secondsAnd we are afraid to ask him what that is.

35 minutes and 26 secondsDEVIN: Actually, I'm not sure specifically what problems he was looking at today.

35 minutes and 30 secondsI know there was something to do with audio

35 minutes and 32 secondsthat he was trying to take care of.

35 minutes and 33 secondsAnd I think he got that solved?

35 minutes and 36 secondsThere were multiple issues. But the main one for today was that...

35 minutes and 39 secondsWe are the first team to get, like, dialogue in.

35 minutes and 43 secondsSo, even though no teams had it working,

35 minutes and 46 secondswe were the first ones to try and get it to work.

35 minutes and 49 secondsAnd that just-- And that took a while.

35 minutes and 50 secondsUh, it took a while, because we had to, like,

35 minutes and 52 secondsdeal with a little bit...

35 minutes and 54 secondswell, my unfamiliarity with the Wwise interface for instance.

35 minutes and 57 secondsUm, and the audio guys' unfamiliarity with the-- our scripting,

36 minutes and 2 secondsour scripts,

36 minutes and 4 secondsto actually build the audio build.

36 minutes and 5 secondsSo, we had a problem that no one really had the whole picture.

36 minutes and 9 secondsUm, and that took a while to figure out.

36 minutes and 11 secondsPAUL: We need to make bank refs still for voice and everything in Unreal.

36 minutes and 13 secondsSo, once that is fixed, let us know.

36 minutes and 15 secondsAnd we'll plug that in, and then voice should start working again.

36 minutes and 17 secondsOr working for the first time I should say.

36 minutes and 20 secondsPAUL: Now that we know the problem, the hard part is over.

36 minutes and 22 secondsBut now I'm, like, pretty behind

36 minutes and 24 secondson all the stuff I was supposed to do today.

36 minutes and 25 secondsI just had this fat list.

36 minutes and 27 secondsSo, I, like, cracked my knuckles, and was getting ready to work,

36 minutes and 29 secondsand then I got pulled into this for the whole day.

36 minutes and 30 seconds\[PAUL LAUGHS\]

36 minutes and 32 secondsSILVIO: Any time that I'm not actively hitting the keyboard...

36 minutes and 36 secondsI'm wasting time.

36 minutes and 38 secondsI'm already here late every day.

36 minutes and 40 secondsUm...

36 minutes and 41 secondsLike, I don't know right now if I'm leaving in ten minutes,

36 minutes and 43 secondsor in an hour and ten minutes.

36 minutes and 44 secondsPAUL: Do you feel like you have an obligation to Devin

36 minutes and 48 secondsto put those hours in?

36 minutes and 49 secondsOr make sure you are not wasting any time?

36 minutes and 51 secondsSILVIO: Not so much to Devin,

36 minutes and 52 secondsbut I feel an obligation to the spirit of a game jam

36 minutes and 56 secondsto put in as much time as I can.

36 minutes and 58 secondsUm...

37 minutes and 1 secondAnd that's what I'm going to do...

37 minutes and 3 secondsPAUL: You'll be around another hour or so?

37 minutes and 4 secondsI think so.

37 minutes and 6 secondsYeah, I think I'll stick around until, like, 9:40.

37 minutes and 9 secondsIt's such a compressed timeline

37 minutes and 11 secondscompared to a normal development cycle.

37 minutes and 13 secondsYou know, where a couple of hours is equivalent to, you know,

37 minutes and 16 secondsa couple of days or a couple of weeks on a normal project, so.

37 minutes and 19 secondsUh...

37 minutes and 20 secondsEvery moment counts.

37 minutes and 22 secondsI made this, like, pot smash dust effect.

37 minutes and 26 secondsIt's...

37 minutes and 27 secondsI probably spent an hour or less on it.

37 minutes and 30 secondsAnd as soon as--

37 minutes and 31 secondsNot having it versus having it is just, like, night and day difference

37 minutes and 35 secondsin terms of how the game feels and how exciting it is.

37 minutes and 38 secondsDEREK: Still waiting on, like, a full playable game.

37 minutes and 42 secondsBut I feel like we are getting closer every day.

37 minutes and 45 secondsSo, that's good.

37 minutes and 46 secondsJEREMY: Seeing stuff come together visually, even if...

37 minutes and 49 secondsit's maybe not the most important part of the game,

37 minutes and 51 secondsI think, is super motivating to other people on the team.

37 minutes and 53 secondsAnd they can see that, you know,

37 minutes and 55 secondsthe game is actually going to become something, so.

37 minutes and 58 secondsSo, yeah, that's what it's all about.

38 minutes and 0 secondsPAUL: Your FX Blueprint looks kind of elaborate.

38 minutes and 3 secondsJEREMY: Oh, this? This is the-- the clay material.

38 minutes and 7 secondsIt's kind of a mess.

38 minutes and 8 secondsUh, this is what happens...

38 minutes and 9 seconds\[JEREMY LAUGHS\]

38 minutes and 10 seconds...in the Amnesia Fortnight.

38 minutes and 13 secondsDon't worry about that.

38 minutes and 14 secondsPAUL: Have you been aware of what Jeremy Mitchell has been doing?

38 minutes and 18 secondsYeah! Yeah, FX stuff...

38 minutes and 20 secondsJeremy's been doing cool effects.

38 minutes and 22 secondsPAUL: Did this just look even better?

38 minutes and 23 seconds-PAUL: Did it just become really cool? -Is it better or worse?

38 minutes and 25 seconds-DREW: It just got awesome over here. -PAUL: Yeah, yeah, yeah.

38 minutes and 27 secondsPAUL: Oh, man.

38 minutes and 28 secondsNo, keep it off, keep it off.

38 minutes and 30 secondsDREW: This is going in my demo reel for sure.

38 minutes and 31 seconds-\[PAUL LAUGHS\] -DREW: This shot.

38 minutes and 34 secondsDREW: Thanks, Derek!

38 minutes and 36 secondsHow are you guys feeling about implementing the water mechanic

38 minutes and 39 secondsat this point.

38 minutes and 40 secondsYeah, I think we don't want to start adding the water

38 minutes and 41 secondsuntil combat is registering properly across the whole multiplayer thing.

38 minutes and 47 secondsAnd, you know...

38 minutes and 48 secondsDEREK: I don't know.

38 minutes and 50 secondsI keep going back and forth on that, like...

38 minutes and 52 secondsOn one hand, like, it'd be really great to have another mode-- like, game mode,

38 minutes and 56 secondsthe water game mode thing.

38 minutes and 58 secondsBut then also, it's like:

38 minutes and 59 seconds"Well, we only have-- Like, now we have...

39 minutes and 2 secondsthree days left."

39 minutes and 3 secondsI don't know if that's going to happen right now.

39 minutes and 7 seconds-TIM: So! -ASIF: Heya, Tim.

39 minutes and 8 secondsTIM: Filmmaking... it's easy.

39 minutes and 10 secondsNot like games. Games is hard.

39 minutes and 12 secondsGames are hard.

39 minutes and 13 seconds-The movies are hard. -TIM: Asif Siddiky or...

39 minutes and 15 secondsSid, as you like to be called.

39 minutes and 17 seconds-Yes, Timmy Schafe. -\[TIM LAUGHS\]

39 minutes and 21 secondsYou could try!

39 minutes and 22 seconds-T-Schafe. -TIM: It'll never stick.

39 minutes and 23 secondsI'm still trying to make that one stick.

39 minutes and 24 seconds-T-Schafe? -ASIF: Yeah, T-Schafe.

39 minutes and 27 secondsI have nave heard anyone call me T-Schafe.

39 minutes and 28 secondsI just call you that every single time I see you.

39 minutes and 32 seconds\[TIM CHUCKLES\]

39 minutes and 33 secondsNo, you don't!

39 minutes and 35 secondsASIF: I'm sure that I have.

39 minutes and 36 secondsAll right, Sid, anyway...

39 minutes and 38 secondsHow do you feel?

39 minutes and 40 secondsOverall, like, I'm at-- pretty at peace with, like...

39 minutes and 43 secondsyou know, the prototype just being what it is.

39 minutes and 47 secondsBut you are still going to try and make it good, right?

39 minutes and 49 seconds-ASIF: Of course! -\[TIM LAUGHS\]

39 minutes and 51 secondsIt went from having a lot of just simple geometry--

39 minutes and 55 secondsYou can see over there, it used to all look like that

39 minutes and 58 secondsprobably two days ago.

39 minutes and 59 seconds\[LEVI CHUCKLES\]

40 minutes and 0 secondsAnd then everything got a coat of texture paint.

40 minutes and 4 secondsPAUL: What's your process for putting materials together

40 minutes and 6 secondson a timeline like this?

40 minutes and 7 secondsLEVI: Uh, quick and dirty.

40 minutes and 9 secondsStart off with a hand-painted texture, um, that I do in Photoshop, so.

40 minutes and 13 secondsI went with this kind of--

40 minutes and 15 secondsIt's kind of a Miyazaki style.

40 minutes and 17 secondsSimple, kind of, uh...

40 minutes and 20 secondscrazy, plated metal.

40 minutes and 22 secondsASIF: Yeah, yeah, it's got a ton of character right now.

40 minutes and 25 secondsEven with just the few things that he's done.

40 minutes and 27 secondsUm, I mean, that's-- credit to Levi, you know.

40 minutes and 30 secondsAnd to Paul as well for the way the props are modeled.

40 minutes and 33 secondsYou know, I was expecting something much simpler

40 minutes and 35 secondsgiven the amount of time that we had, so.

40 minutes and 37 secondsThe fact that he was able to, like, achieve so much with so little, uh...

40 minutes and 42 secondswas-- was really inspiring and just very gratifying to see.

40 minutes and 45 secondsAnd the machines are working the way they are intended to so far.

40 minutes and 49 secondsSo, yeah, that stuff is amazing and, uh...

40 minutes and 53 secondsThanks, Brian, for doing that!

40 minutes and 55 secondsYou are the man!

40 minutes and 56 secondsRYAN: I love it!

40 minutes and 57 secondsIt's getting-- it's really-- yeah!

41 minutes and 0 secondsThings are happening! Stuff is coming together!

41 minutes and 2 secondsIt feels really good.

41 minutes and 4 secondsPeople are doing pretty great work right now.

41 minutes and 5 secondsI'm pretty excited to see everything as it's coming in.

41 minutes and 9 secondsLike, it might be a little bit of a video game now.

41 minutes and 12 secondsJust a little-- Just a little bit.

41 minutes and 14 secondsThat's... that's cute.

41 minutes and 18 secondsZAK: Uh, okay, I just want to do a quick state of the state

41 minutes and 21 secondson, like, where we are as a project.

41 minutes and 23 secondsWhich is that... nothing is working right now.

41 minutes and 26 secondsWe don't have really...

41 minutes and 28 secondsany particular game up and running in a reliable way.

41 minutes and 30 secondsAnd we do not have the content in for most of the games.

41 minutes and 34 secondsI feel like we are doing a pretty good job on art asset production.

41 minutes and 38 secondsUm, but...

41 minutes and 40 secondsmost of our eight minigames do not actually have their logic implemented,

41 minutes and 43 secondswe do not have all the object types we need,

41 minutes and 45 secondswe do not have the tool types we need.

41 minutes and 46 secondsUm, and most importantly the network...

41 minutes and 50 secondsuh, second screen stuff is now disconnecting.

41 minutes and 52 secondsSo, we basically need to get that fundamental thing,

41 minutes and 54 secondsbecause if the second screen does not work,

41 minutes and 57 secondswe don't have a game at all.

41 minutes and 59 seconds\[ZAK EXHALES\]

42 minutes and 0 secondsIf we can't get that fixed today...

42 minutes and 3 seconds...I think there is almost no way that we could actually get

42 minutes and 4 secondsthe rest of the content implemented in three days.

42 minutes and 7 seconds-AMY: I believe in us. -ZAK: I believe in us too!

42 minutes and 9 seconds(No pressure.)

42 minutes and 10 secondsDo you guys want to break

42 minutes and 11 secondsand go start drilling into that right now,

42 minutes and 12 secondswhile we go update on all the other stuff.

42 minutes and 15 seconds-AARON: I bet you it's this! -AMY: Really?!

42 minutes and 16 seconds-AARON: Oh, yeah! No, okay... -AMY: Oh, is this...

42 minutes and 18 secondsAARON: Wait, stop, stop stop. Stop, let me see.

42 minutes and 19 seconds-I want to disconnect it. -Stop, stop.

42 minutes and 20 seconds-\[AMY GRUNTS\] -Let me see.

42 minutes and 22 secondsAARON: Disconnect that node. Just see what happens.

42 minutes and 24 seconds-No, no, no. -Nope, it still broke there too!

42 minutes and 25 secondsAMY: But we were doing this yesterday!

42 minutes and 27 secondsAARON: I... I don't know.

42 minutes and 29 secondsI was in the same behavior.

42 minutes and 30 secondsI was in the same behavior.

42 minutes and 32 secondsWhich doesn't make any sense.

42 minutes and 34 secondsPAUL: With all the technical hurdles,

42 minutes and 36 secondsis it disheartening to have to keep doing all this stuff

42 minutes and 40 secondsnot knowing if it's actually going to turn into a game eventually?

42 minutes and 43 secondsNah, not really. Like, because...

42 minutes and 45 secondsI mean, I have a lot of faith in Aaron and Amy, and they are--

42 minutes and 48 secondsLike, they are just chugging away doing whatever they can.

42 minutes and 50 secondsFor me slinging around a floppy stake is funny enough in itself, you know.

42 minutes and 54 secondsLike, just being in those worlds.

42 minutes and 56 secondsLike, uh... the stupid tennis hell stuff.

42 minutes and 59 secondsLike, just, like...

43 minutes and 0 secondsJust going into that space and laughing at it for the first time is...

43 minutes and 3 secondsis something, right?

43 minutes and 5 secondsZAK: Yeah, I'm trying to find out information from people,

43 minutes and 7 secondsif there's ever been an Amnesia Fortnight game

43 minutes and 9 secondsthat just didn't land.

43 minutes and 10 secondsJust, like, anybody just comes in

43 minutes and 11 secondswhere it's, like, at the end of the day it's just, like...

43 minutes and 12 secondsliterally a garbage pile trainwreck.

43 minutes and 14 secondsI was in-- I was in a dark place yesterday.

43 minutes and 16 secondsI was like: "This is all not going to land."

43 minutes and 19 secondsBecause it's just, I don't know... It's sort of a weird thing, like...

43 minutes and 21 secondsFor me the point of prototyping is, like, prove something out one way or the other.

43 minutes and 24 secondsAnd you can succeed or fail.

43 minutes and 25 secondsWhich means... failure is an option?

43 minutes and 27 secondsLike, failure is actually a good thing.

43 minutes and 29 secondsIf it fails, like: "Okay, great! That didn't work."

43 minutes and 31 secondsUm, but if that's because of technical issues, like,

43 minutes and 34 secondsthat are solvable in the long run, um...

43 minutes and 40 secondsThat's what everybody says!

43 minutes and 42 secondsUh, and I hope we do. I hope we do.

43 minutes and 44 secondsBut I've also done this enough times.

43 minutes and 45 secondsSometimes you don't figure it out.

43 minutes and 47 secondsLike, it's-- you can't just rely on, like:

43 minutes and 48 seconds"Oh, you know, well, everything just comes together at the last minute."

43 minutes and 51 secondsIt's like: "Well, no, sometimes it doesn't come together

43 minutes and 52 secondsat the last minute."

43 minutes and 53 seconds\[AMY HUMS\]

44 minutes and 4 secondsAnd it's not happening there?

44 minutes and 5 secondsNo, it's not.

44 minutes and 7 secondsAARON: We are having a lot of trouble, I mean...

44 minutes and 10 secondsCertainly part of it is likely due to the fact

44 minutes and 11 secondsthat we are just not really familiar with it,

44 minutes and 13 secondsand we are trying to get up and running with it as soon as possible.

44 minutes and 15 secondsAnd so, we are not spending tons of time reading documentation,

44 minutes and 17 secondsand watching tutorials and all that kind of stuff.

44 minutes and 19 secondsWe are just kind of hitting the ground running.

44 minutes and 20 secondsUm...

44 minutes and 22 secondsWe've had a little bit of trouble on that front.

44 minutes and 23 secondsAMY: This is a much better test.

44 minutes and 25 secondsOkay.

44 minutes and 26 secondsI should put that, like, on a two second timer.

44 minutes and 34 secondsIt's one actor. It's this one actor call.

44 minutes and 35 seconds-Freaking... -Yeah, close it.

44 minutes and 37 secondsAARON: Well...

44 minutes and 38 seconds\[AARON LAUGHS\]

44 minutes and 39 seconds-AMY: Uh... -AARON: It is this node!

44 minutes and 41 seconds-Amazing. -You found it? Yay!

44 minutes and 43 secondsIt wasn't actually-- It wasn't actually a systemic problem.

44 minutes and 45 secondsIt's really good news!

44 minutes and 48 seconds-Menu! -Woo!

44 minutes and 50 secondsOkay! That was the full game.

44 minutes and 52 secondsThat was the game end to end.

44 minutes and 53 secondsThat was the whole thing.

44 minutes and 55 secondsThat was the whole thing!

44 minutes and 58 secondsNow we are just back to not having enough time.

45 minutes and 0 secondsInstead of it also being impossible.

45 minutes and 2 secondsZAK: Uh, two weeks on the idea...

45 minutes and 4 secondsAnd then you'll never touch it again.

45 minutes and 6 secondsSo, I mean, this is sort of the shot for this idea to, uh-- to live and die.

45 minutes and 10 secondsAnd so, you know, you go through the arc

45 minutes and 11 secondsof getting very excited about something and then going, like:

45 minutes and 13 seconds"Oh, actually no. It's just going to...

45 minutes and 15 secondsbe stillborn in a way.

45 minutes and 17 secondsAnd then-- then you'll move on and never-- never make that thing.

45 minutes and 20 secondsUm...

45 minutes and 21 secondsAnd that, you know, it doesn't matter how long you are in the industry,

45 minutes and 23 secondsthat's always-- that's just a bummer.

45 minutes and 25 secondsUm, you just get excited about something

45 minutes and 27 secondsand then it doesn't end up happening.

45 minutes and 28 secondsUh, but hopefully it should all-- it will all come together.

45 minutes and 32 secondsAnd we will make something awesome.

45 minutes and 33 secondsAnd we will have a very hilarious playtest

45 minutes and 36 secondswhere we'll make Tim, uh...

45 minutes and 38 secondsdo all the stupid stuff in front of everyone.

45 minutes and 50 secondsUm, I'm kicking this guy's ass.

45 minutes and 52 seconds\[LAUGHTER\]

45 minutes and 55 secondsIt's really neat seeing all the systems kind of working.

45 minutes and 58 secondsSort of.

45 minutes and 59 secondsA lot more than they were yesterday.

46 minutes and 1 secondYeah, progress.

46 minutes and 3 secondsSince I had the basic multiplayer working,

46 minutes and 5 secondswe wanted to extend that to the other aspects of the game.

46 minutes and 8 secondsSo, we did that, and we got it in,

46 minutes and 10 secondsand it's working pretty good!

46 minutes and 12 secondsI'm looking for Tucker, but, uh, he must be at the beer party.

46 minutes and 15 seconds\[CHAD LAUGHS\]

46 minutes and 17 secondsUnfortunate timing.

46 minutes and 20 secondsYou always lose out to beer when it comes to Tucker.

46 minutes and 23 secondsWake up, Tucker!

46 minutes and 26 seconds\[JARED LAUGHS\]

46 minutes and 27 secondsGoddammit!

46 minutes and 28 seconds-JEREMY: Whoa-ow! -JARED: Holy shit!

46 minutes and 30 seconds-JEREMY: You just punched me out of-- -\[LAUGHTER\]

46 minutes and 33 seconds...to outer space.

46 minutes and 34 secondsJARED: And you, um, hit somebody in the air while they are jumping,

46 minutes and 37 secondsthey go flying across the map.

46 minutes and 39 secondsPAUL: That's something you wanted, right?

46 minutes and 41 secondsJARED: Yeah! Well, I don't think it was expected!

46 minutes and 43 seconds\[JARED LAUGHS\]

46 minutes and 44 secondsI think it just happened.

46 minutes and 45 secondsAnd we are probably going to keep it.

46 minutes and 47 seconds\[JARED LAUGHS\]

46 minutes and 48 secondsBecause it's awesome.

46 minutes and 49 secondsDerek, are we going to keep it?

46 minutes and 51 seconds-DEREK: Yeah. -JARED: Good.

46 minutes and 52 secondsJARED: And there is a lot of, um...

46 minutes and 54 secondsfunny accidents in this game.

46 minutes and 56 seconds\[JARED LAUGHS\]

46 minutes and 58 secondsIt's cool.

46 minutes and 59 secondsOr maybe they are all just really intentional

47 minutes and 0 secondsand Derek is a genius.

47 minutes and 2 secondsDefinitely not that.

47 minutes and 3 seconds\[DEREK CHUCKLES\]

47 minutes and 4 secondsI don't know, like...

47 minutes and 5 secondsI think somewhere along the way the original vision was obsolete.

47 minutes and 9 secondsIt's way more fun and interesting

47 minutes and 13 secondsto fly around as little spirits than I thought it would be.

47 minutes and 15 secondsLike, I thought that would be just a boring part of the game.

47 minutes and 18 secondsI guess maybe it's the contrast of different traversal elements.

47 minutes and 24 secondsLike, you have really slow lumbering guys that actually can do stuff.

47 minutes and 27 secondsBut then, when you fly out,

47 minutes and 29 secondsyou are completely mobile and you can go anywhere.

47 minutes and 31 secondsUh, so I don't know, it's totally evolved.

47 minutes and 34 secondsCHAD: The combat--

47 minutes and 35 secondsI think the combat still feels a little random.

47 minutes and 37 secondsJust like I'm flailing around.

47 minutes and 39 secondsWe can work on tuning that a little bit hopefully over the next few days

47 minutes and 42 secondsto make it feel a little more strategic.

47 minutes and 45 secondsJARED: Yeah!

47 minutes and 46 seconds\[JARED LAUGHS\]

47 minutes and 47 secondsCHAD: Oh, I got a crash.

47 minutes and 48 secondsDEREK: Crash!

47 minutes and 49 secondsDid you get any text?

47 minutes and 50 secondsDEREK: I tried to get in one of these debug pots and it crashed.

47 minutes and 55 secondsYeah, next bits I hope to get in some of the game loop

47 minutes and 58 secondswhere you can actually kill the base and win or lose,

48 minutes and 0 secondsso you can actually start and finish a game.

48 minutes and 3 secondsYou know, like, we don't really have that in.

48 minutes and 5 secondsRight now you can just wail on each other forever, so.

48 minutes and 7 secondsUm...

48 minutes and 8 secondsThat's the next bit to hit.

48 minutes and 10 secondsGEOFF: Cool, all right. Well, I'll see you guys tomorrow.

48 minutes and 11 secondsAll right, have a good night!

48 minutes and 13 seconds\[MUSIC\]

48 minutes and 14 secondsSILVIO: So, um...

48 minutes and 17 secondsUm...

48 minutes and 18 secondsSo, the pick random spawn location...

48 minutes and 20 seconds\[MUSIC\]

48 minutes and 21 secondsSILVIO: So, get ground location below is in reality just

48 minutes and 25 secondsproject point of navigation.

48 minutes and 26 secondsBut that's because there is a navmesh down there.

48 minutes and 30 secondsDEVIN: Wha-at?

48 minutes and 32 secondsSILVIO: There is a navmesh down there.

48 minutes and 34 secondsWhen you sort of go very slowly.

48 minutes and 37 secondsDEVIN: (What is it on?)

48 minutes and 38 secondsSILVIO: Wait, is this a navmesh or...

48 minutes and 40 secondsYeah, yeah, there it is. There it is, look at this!

48 minutes and 42 seconds-What's this surface? -It's the Underworld.

48 minutes and 44 seconds\[ASIF SIGHS\]

48 minutes and 45 secondsPAUL: Asif, you don't drink coffee.

48 minutes and 46 seconds-ASIF: What? -PAUL: You don't drink coffee.

48 minutes and 49 secondsASIF: That's not true.

48 minutes and 50 seconds\[CHUCKLING\]

48 minutes and 53 secondsASIF: Even if it wasn't true before, it definitely needs to be true now.

48 minutes and 55 seconds\[LAUGHTER\]

48 minutes and 58 secondsNot that, like, other people didn't have work to do today, right?

49 minutes and 1 secondBut, um...

49 minutes and 3 secondsWe found out this morning

49 minutes and 5 secondsthat Ryan wasn't going to be able to make it in today.

49 minutes and 8 secondsUm...

49 minutes and 10 seconds\[ASIF EXHALES\]

49 minutes and 12 secondsFor me, just personally, like...

49 minutes and 14 secondsI feel like anytime I didn't know something

49 minutes and 16 secondsor was sort of unsure about something,

49 minutes and 18 secondsI could just quickly, like, look over to him and, like, ask.

49 minutes and 21 secondsAnd, like, losing that was...

49 minutes and 24 secondsa little disorienting.

49 minutes and 26 secondsI already have so much stress...

49 minutes and 29 secondsjust completely independent of what anyone else is doing

49 minutes and 32 secondsfrom the fact that there is only a day left,

49 minutes and 35 secondsthat it's messing with my head a little bit.

49 minutes and 37 secondsOkay, I'll find this, I'll send it to you,

49 minutes and 39 secondsand then I'll keep working on the thing.

49 minutes and 42 secondsCool.

49 minutes and 50 secondsPAUL: What's going on, Asif?

49 minutes and 51 secondsUh, it's not really a good time to talk, but basically it's just...

49 minutes and 55 secondsUm...

49 minutes and 57 secondsWith Ryan being out today unexpectedly, we just have a little bit more, um...

50 minutes and 2 secondsThere is a little bit more work to do to place all of the finished assets.

50 minutes and 5 secondsPAUL: Oh, okay.

50 minutes and 6 secondsBRIAN: So, Ryan was sort of responsible for taking all of the completed stuff

50 minutes and 12 secondsand putting them in, like, the level proper.

50 minutes and 16 secondsTextures or materials that needed to be put in.

50 minutes and 19 secondsVFX, stuff like that.

50 minutes and 21 secondsUm, and so, that's kind of being taken over a bit by Asif for today.

50 minutes and 26 secondsHe is currently replacing the car wash whitebox

50 minutes and 28 secondswith the big car wash machine that I finished last night.

50 minutes and 34 secondsUm...

50 minutes and 35 secondsPAUL: That was the most complicated machine too, right?

50 minutes and 37 secondsDefinitely the most complicated.

50 minutes and 39 secondsUh... I was up till three.

50 minutes and 41 secondsASIF: It's-- it's a lot.

50 minutes and 42 secondsI'm asking a lot of everybody, and....

50 minutes and 46 secondsYou know, we cut a ton of stuff over the last two weeks.

50 minutes and 49 secondsAnd there is still a lot to do.

50 minutes and 51 secondsPAUL: But is it mostly just

50 minutes and 52 secondssort of tweaking the gameplay experience at this point?

50 minutes and 54 secondsNope, it's finishing the gameplay experience.

50 minutes and 57 secondsIt's-- it's crazy!

50 minutes and 58 secondsIt's, like, it's really, really, really hard to-- to scope.

51 minutes and 3 secondsI mean, you can know that you have two weeks

51 minutes and 5 secondsand have a sense of, like, what it means to simplify, but...

51 minutes and 9 secondsI don't know, I mean, this is sort of the part where...

51 minutes and 12 seconds...my inexperience is sort of catching up to me.

51 minutes and 16 secondsI just wanted to, like...

51 minutes and 19 secondsI don't know, do something that I thought was--

51 minutes and 21 secondswas big and special while-- while I had the opportunity.

51 minutes and 24 secondsBecause these-- all these people will go back to making games.

51 minutes and 26 secondsAnd I never will.

51 minutes and 28 secondsLEVI: See that, Say?

51 minutes and 30 secondsNo more time.

51 minutes and 31 secondsThat means no more time.

51 minutes and 32 seconds\[LEVI MAKES WHOOSHING SOUNDS\]

51 minutes and 34 secondsZAK: Happy last day, everybody!

51 minutes and 36 secondsNo matter what happens...

51 minutes and 38 secondsit's over after today.

51 minutes and 39 secondsHa-ha!

51 minutes and 40 secondsZAK: We can look at what's in progress, so.

51 minutes and 42 secondsThe periscope camera is messed up.

51 minutes and 43 secondsAARON: We'll deal with it.

51 minutes and 44 seconds-ZAK: All right. -It'd be good if there was a...

51 minutes and 45 secondsZAK: Hold up! Let's get through all this stuff.

51 minutes and 48 secondsCameras for end screen and the playground. That's on you.

51 minutes and 50 secondsI need to check on the tennis flow,

51 minutes and 51 secondsbecause there was not a Press Button step happening at all last night.

51 minutes and 55 secondsSo, that's-- that's not a small amount of work

51 minutes and 57 secondsto get that room coming down.

51 minutes and 59 secondsIt's not a huge amount.

52 minutes and 0 seconds-We can-- we can find a way to do that. -Okay.

52 minutes and 2 secondsZAK: I think we can find a way to do that.

52 minutes and 3 secondsAMY: I think playing through would be a really great idea.

52 minutes and 5 secondsBecause we probably have a bunch of small things

52 minutes and 7 secondsthat we actually do need to address.

52 minutes and 8 secondsBecause the scenarios probably have ways

52 minutes and 10 secondsin which you can break them.

52 minutes and 12 secondsZAK: Yep.

52 minutes and 13 secondsAMY: That we...

52 minutes and 14 seconds-ZAK: ...don't know. -Yep.

52 minutes and 15 secondsZAK: All right. Who wants to play?

52 minutes and 18 secondsZAK: Everybody is, uh... is scrambling.

52 minutes and 20 secondsUm, we are actually pretty good on pure content.

52 minutes and 23 secondsSo, we have, like, most of our models in.

52 minutes and 25 secondsWhich is nice, because Tazio and Will can go through

52 minutes and 27 secondsand focus on polish and effects, and things like that,

52 minutes and 30 secondswhich is awesome.

52 minutes and 31 secondsHow is everybody else doing?

52 minutes and 32 secondsHow are the rest of the teams doing?

52 minutes and 33 secondsPAUL: About the same-- the same place.

52 minutes and 34 secondsAbout the same place? Okay.

52 minutes and 36 secondsTUCKER: Well, Derek had a little bit of a freak-out earlier

52 minutes and 38 secondsBut he was like: "Dude, I'm freaking out.

52 minutes and 40 secondsOkay! Now let's just-- Let's just figure it out."

52 minutes and 43 secondsSo, it was very momentary and not terribly exciting.

52 minutes and 46 secondsPAUL: What was he freaking out about?

52 minutes and 47 secondsDEREK: Yeah, uh...

52 minutes and 49 secondsI made a crazy decision to do the water mechanic.

52 minutes and 55 secondsUh...

52 minutes and 56 secondsSeemed like we could squeeze it in with our schedule.

52 minutes and 59 secondsUh...

53 minutes and 0 secondsAnd so, we are going for it.

53 minutes and 3 seconds\[JEREMY LAUGHS\]

53 minutes and 8 secondsI'm trying to make the spirits barf water.

53 minutes and 12 secondsDEREK: It was pretty late last night.

53 minutes and 14 secondsAnd I knew I had to make a call.

53 minutes and 15 seconds\[CHUCKLING\]

53 minutes and 16 secondsAnd, uh... So, I made a call.

53 minutes and 19 secondsAnd so, now here we are!

53 minutes and 20 seconds\[DEREK LAUGHS\]

53 minutes and 22 secondsPAUL: So, now, like, the win condition is going to be

53 minutes and 25 secondsyou have to spray water on your opponent's kiln until it goes out?

53 minutes and 28 secondsAs opposed to just whacking it with a sword.

53 minutes and 29 secondsDEREK: Yeah, yep.

53 minutes and 31 secondsPAUL: That probably makes more sense.

53 minutes and 32 secondsUh, we'll see, it is a big-- a bit of a changeover.

53 minutes and 35 secondsLuckily, I was just starting on damaging the kiln and destroying it

53 minutes and 39 secondsto make a victory or loss condition.

53 minutes and 41 secondsSo, the fact that it's filled with fire now

53 minutes and 44 secondsand you put it out with water,

53 minutes and 46 secondsit saves me from doing that, so it isn't a total loss.

53 minutes and 48 secondsPAUL: Oh, okay.

53 minutes and 49 secondsCHAD: But, yeah, it's definitely heads down and crank.

53 minutes and 51 secondsTIM: You got pink rocks. Oh my god, you got critters!

53 minutes and 53 secondsYou got horrible two-legged bicorns!

53 minutes and 57 secondsYou've got-- Oh my god!

53 minutes and 58 secondsI should go away more often. This is awesome!

54 minutes and 3 secondsThat's a really comp-- Oh, you just sucked him up like Luigi!

54 minutes and 5 secondsThat's awesome. You can't hear me.

54 minutes and 6 seconds-TIM: You got your headphones on. -I can-- I can hear you.

54 minutes and 8 secondsDo all of those attachments mean something?

54 minutes and 10 secondsYep.

54 minutes and 11 secondsDEVIN: You can kind of get information about the different traits.

54 minutes and 15 secondsSpeed, defense, size, and aggression.

54 minutes and 18 secondsAnd so, the down red triangle means

54 minutes and 21 secondsthat this individual is going to be really low on that.

54 minutes and 23 secondsSo, I know when I get there, he is going to have small horns.

54 minutes and 25 secondsHe's got small horns.

54 minutes and 27 secondsAnd then, so...

54 minutes and 28 secondsAnd then, if I go over to this one that's got, um...

54 minutes and 31 secondsOops.

54 minutes and 32 secondsUh, a red up triangle, he is going to have big horns.

54 minutes and 35 secondsPAUL: Oh, cool!

54 minutes and 36 secondsIt's a quick way to try to locate the individuals in the world

54 minutes and 39 secondsthat match what you are trying to do with your, um... selection.

54 minutes and 44 secondsSo, yeah, I can't really-- I can't really judge the sim stuff,

54 minutes and 47 secondsbecause I'm not playing it in that way.

54 minutes and 49 secondsI'm kind of just playing it to listen to sounds and...

54 minutes and 52 seconds...find the stuff I'm working on to make sure it's working properly.

54 minutes and 56 secondsBut, uh, it's fun to just run around and suck up animals and food.

55 minutes and 1 secondIt's interesting what you end up with when you just...

55 minutes and 4 secondsget a bunch of dudes with different skillsets together

55 minutes and 8 secondsand put a time pressure on them.

55 minutes and 9 seconds\[GABE CHUCKLES\]

55 minutes and 10 secondsYou don't have time to nitpick anything.

55 minutes and 12 secondsYou just have to kind of go with what-- what you come up with.

55 minutes and 14 secondsAnd hopefully it's cool, and...

55 minutes and 16 secondsYou know, luckily, here it is.

55 minutes and 18 secondsEMILY: Tucker!

55 minutes and 19 secondsJust finger guns and walking away.

55 minutes and 20 secondsFinger guns and backing away, that's what I'm doing.

55 minutes and 22 secondsEMILY: Bye, Tucker!

55 minutes and 23 secondsYou can film me if you want!

55 minutes and 25 secondsJAMES: "From my perspective, the Jedi are evil!"

55 minutes and 27 secondsThat's such a good line!

55 minutes and 29 seconds-AMY: But it is so not true! -Just say how you are feeling!

55 minutes and 30 secondsTAZIO: It's significantly better than I and II.

55 minutes and 32 secondsI'm not sure. To be perfectly honest,

55 minutes and 34 secondslike, I haven't seen any of them since they came out, so.

55 minutes and 36 secondsI just remember by the time I got to the third one, I'm like:

55 minutes and 39 seconds"Surely, they would have fixed

55 minutes and 40 secondssome of the fundamental garbage problems of the last two."

55 minutes and 42 secondsAnd they had not, so.

55 minutes and 44 secondsZAK: All right, are you playing?

55 minutes and 45 secondsHey, everybody! Let's play our video game!

55 minutes and 47 seconds-Yay! -AARON: Yay.

55 minutes and 48 secondsZAK: Yay!

55 minutes and 49 secondsAARON: Where are the hands?

55 minutes and 51 secondsStand on the circle facing the stump and press the button to continue.

55 minutes and 54 seconds-That is so perfect! -It's great.

55 minutes and 56 secondsGood job, Emily!

55 minutes and 57 secondsANNA: Oh, that's awesome!

55 minutes and 59 seconds-ANNA: Nice VFX, dude! -TAZIO: Thanks!

56 minutes and 3 seconds-AARON: All right! -Kill the baby.

56 minutes and 4 seconds-Kill the baby. -TAZIO: Murder!

56 minutes and 6 secondsZAK: Oh, wait! Did that camera not work?

56 minutes and 8 seconds-AARON: Yeah, it didn't. -ZAK: That was a bad camera.

56 minutes and 10 seconds-That's a bad camera. -JAMES: But that was working earlier.

56 minutes and 11 secondsIt was.

56 minutes and 12 seconds-TAZIO: Oh! -AARON: Okay!

56 minutes and 14 secondsAARON: Two friends got to take controllers.

56 minutes and 15 secondsAh!

56 minutes and 16 secondsGot shocked.

56 minutes and 17 seconds-All right, someone else. -I'll do it, I'll do it.

56 minutes and 19 secondsHopefully this works better than before.

56 minutes and 20 secondsTwo!

56 minutes and 22 secondsThree!

56 minutes and 23 secondsFour!

56 minutes and 25 secondsFive!

56 minutes and 26 secondsYay! That was a really good jump rope session.

56 minutes and 29 seconds\[LAUGHTER\]

56 minutes and 30 secondsChurn!

56 minutes and 32 secondsFaster! Faster! Faster!

56 minutes and 33 secondsSlower, slower, slower.

56 minutes and 36 seconds-JAMES: Oh, no! -EMILY: Oh, jeez!

56 minutes and 37 seconds-JAMES: Oh, no! -EMILY: Oh, no!

56 minutes and 38 secondsWhat are you doing?!

56 minutes and 40 secondsZAK: All right, this is still too hard!

56 minutes and 41 secondsAARON: Oh, I've never adjusted that!

56 minutes and 42 seconds-AARON: There was no task, so that's why. -ZAK: Oh, okay.

56 minutes and 44 secondsAARON: Make a task, I will happily do it.

56 minutes and 46 seconds\[TAZIO CHUCKLES\]

56 minutes and 47 secondsI'm sorry!

56 minutes and 48 secondsYay!

56 minutes and 49 secondsYeah, I'll make those-- I'll make those more forgiving.

56 minutes and 51 secondsYeah, basically, it's just the zones shouldn't--

56 minutes and 54 secondswhen you are out of a zone, it shouldn't drop as fast.

56 minutes and 56 secondsAARON: That was-- That was pretty good.

56 minutes and 58 secondsThere was a couple of things, but that was not bad.

57 minutes and 0 secondsZAK: All right, these are all pretty small things.

57 minutes and 3 secondsSo, hopefully we can get done with this in, like, an hour...

57 minutes and 7 secondsPAUL: Yay, it's over!

57 minutes and 8 secondsYeah, kind of, pretty much.

57 minutes and 11 secondsTomorrow. I call--

57 minutes and 12 secondsI would say tomorrow it's over.

57 minutes and 13 secondsAfter the company plays the game.

57 minutes and 15 secondsAnd Tim gets to play and stuff.

57 minutes and 16 secondsPAUL: Is there anything you are worried about?

57 minutes and 19 secondsDEREK: Not really.

57 minutes and 21 secondsI mean, I think it's-- I think it's great!

57 minutes and 24 secondsUh, we-- we just played it earlier.

57 minutes and 25 secondsThe reason I'm feeling so good about it is because we just played it earlier.

57 minutes and 28 secondsAnd...

57 minutes and 29 secondsIt's, like-- It's really good!

57 minutes and 30 seconds\[DEREK CHUCKLES\]

57 minutes and 31 secondsIt all came together!

57 minutes and 32 secondsUh...

57 minutes and 34 secondsYeah, it's a really good prototype.

57 minutes and 41 seconds\[JARED LAUGHS\]

57 minutes and 42 secondsUh...

57 minutes and 45 seconds\[LAUGHTER\]

57 minutes and 47 secondsWhere did he go?!

57 minutes and 48 seconds\[LAUGHTER\]

57 minutes and 53 secondsThis is just chaos!

57 minutes and 56 secondsPAUL: You didn't have nearly as dramatic arc...

57 minutes and 59 seconds-PAUL: ...this time, Derek. -No? I'm sorry.

58 minutes and 0 secondsI'm sorry.

58 minutes and 1 secondPAUL: Are you disappointed or not?

58 minutes and 2 secondsYeah, it's okay.

58 minutes and 5 secondsPAUL: We gave it to Asif.

58 minutes and 6 seconds-Oh, really? -PAUL: Pass the torch.

58 minutes and 8 secondsI'm sure he is fine.

58 minutes and 9 secondsI think Asif slept on the couch.

58 minutes and 11 secondsAnd, like, that's something I told myself I would never do... after Psychonauts 1.

58 minutes and 16 secondsI know! I know, he did. He did, he did.

58 minutes and 19 secondsI mean, generally you don't want to-- You don't want to crunch, right?

58 minutes and 22 secondsIt's-- it's a little different when it's AF

58 minutes and 25 secondsand it's over a really short period of time.

58 minutes and 27 secondsOverall, like, you--

58 minutes and 29 secondsCrunch doesn't make for a better product.

58 minutes and 31 secondsYou want to do this for the team.

58 minutes and 32 secondsYou want to, like, you know, deliver for the team.

58 minutes and 35 secondsAnd, like, that's kind of sometimes is a stronger driving goal

58 minutes and 38 secondsthan the creative nature of the work.

58 minutes and 41 secondsUm, and definitely this one, like, yeah.

58 minutes and 43 secondsI really wanted to execute really well for him.

58 minutes and 45 secondsKEE: But, like, we need to play through.

58 minutes and 47 secondsMake sure you could play through a round and it... works.

58 minutes and 50 seconds-\[LAUGHTER\] -Yeah.

58 minutes and 53 secondsASIF: Uh, okay.

58 minutes and 54 secondsWell, let's just see where we can get real quick.

58 minutes and 56 secondsAnd then people can just make notes.

58 minutes and 57 secondsGAVIN: Maybe just, like, try each machine.

58 minutes and 59 secondsYeah, exactly.

59 minutes and 0 secondsBRIAN: Oh, man we have it...

59 minutes and 2 secondsset up to where the entrance to the extruder is behind.

59 minutes and 5 secondsSo, you can't just throw it all the way.

59 minutes and 7 secondsRight.

59 minutes and 8 seconds\[IN-GAME MUSIC IS PLAYING\]

59 minutes and 10 seconds-ASIF: Oh my god, no! -KEE: Oh, no-o-o-o!

59 minutes and 12 seconds\[LAUGHTER\]

59 minutes and 13 secondsKEE: Oh, good!

59 minutes and 15 secondsIt's just a little burnt.

59 minutes and 17 secondsBRIAN: It's fine, everything is fine.

59 minutes and 19 secondsDo you guys like the idea of...

59 minutes and 22 seconds\[LAUGHTER\]

59 minutes and 26 seconds-\[LAUGHTER\] -ASIF: Oh, no!

59 minutes and 28 seconds-Oh-h-h.... -ASIF: Oh my god, all right.

59 minutes and 31 seconds-KEE: ...no-o-o-o! -That's how that's getting in there.

59 minutes and 32 seconds\[LAUGHTER\]

59 minutes and 33 secondsBRIAN: Kee...

59 minutes and 35 secondsNo, okay, so the way it works is that it sees if it's inside.

59 minutes and 39 secondsBut because TK just lets you go fucking through the walls.

59 minutes and 42 seconds-\[LAUGHTER\] -It's like: "I'm inside the bowl now!"

59 minutes and 45 secondsKEE: Man, we made a video game, you guys!

59 minutes and 46 secondsASIF: Yeah! It's doing stuff!

59 minutes and 49 secondsOoh, wow!

59 minutes and 51 seconds\[ASIF EXHALES\]

59 minutes and 53 secondsASIF: I would have a lot more to say,

59 minutes and 54 secondsbut I feel, like, a little brain-dead right now, but...

59 minutes and 56 seconds\[LAUGHTER\]

59 minutes and 57 secondsTrust me, I-- On the inside I'm super excited.

59 minutes and 59 secondsAnd this is amazing.

1 hour and 0 secondsAnd I can't believe we have this much in there.

1 hour and 2 secondsSo, thanks, you guys!

1 hour and 6 seconds\[ASIF EXHALES\]

1 hour and 8 secondsGod, I'm so-- I'm so tired!

1 hour and 12 secondsBut... but... it's cool!

1 hour and 14 secondsCAMDEN: Learning a lot about Asif.

1 hour and 16 seconds\[CAMDEN LAUGHS\]

1 hour and 17 secondsThat guy! God!

1 hour and 19 secondsAnd, uh... just watching him go through this, like, walk of fire.

1 hour and 23 secondsI, like, really feel for the guy.

1 hour and 24 secondsAnd I kind of want to be like: "You can do it!"

1 hour and 27 secondsUm... but I think he is getting a lot out of it.

1 hour and 30 secondsI really do.

1 hour and 31 seconds\[ZAK EXHALES\]

1 hour and 32 secondsAll right, we'll do it real quick! Real quick!

1 hour and 35 secondsWe are going to speedrun the shit out of this!

1 hour and 38 secondsWas there anything else in here?

1 hour and 39 secondsJAMES: Um...

1 hour and 40 secondsAMY: Better main menu buttons.

1 hour and 42 secondsZAK: Uh, are you going to make this replicate?

1 hour and 45 secondsYou didn't-- that's fine. I don't care about it that much.

1 hour and 47 seconds-JAMES: I don't know how to do that! -Yeah, I was giving him...

1 hour and 50 secondsJAMES: Fucking don't look at me!

1 hour and 51 secondsIf, by any some chance, something that-- something is broken...

1 hour and 55 secondsZAK: It's all amazing! It's wonderful!

1 hour and 57 secondsZAK: But, yeah, we are done. We are done.

1 hour and 59 secondsIt's a grandma's attic, uh...

1 hour and 1 minute and 1 secondIt is basically, like...

1 hour and 1 minute and 2 secondsEnd of the project when you kind of shove everything in,

1 hour and 1 minute and 5 secondsand you close the door.

1 hour and 1 minute and 7 secondsAnd no one can open it again.

1 hour and 1 minute and 8 secondsBecause if you open it, there'd be, like,

1 hour and 1 minute and 10 secondsa giant avalanche of garbage that falls on your head,

1 hour and 1 minute and 12 secondsand a bowling ball,

1 hour and 1 minute and 13 secondsand a bunch of old clothes, and things like that.

1 hour and 1 minute and 14 secondsSo, you just...

1 hour and 1 minute and 16 secondsJust don't-- don't open that.

1 hour and 1 minute and 21 secondsPAUL: What's the current mood, Asif?

1 hour and 1 minute and 22 secondsWhat are you doing?

1 hour and 1 minute and 23 secondsASIF: It's 11:13... PM on the night before these things are due.

1 hour and 1 minute and 28 secondsBRIAN: Fuck!

1 hour and 1 minute and 31 secondsBrian is getting as much stuff hooked up as time will permit.

1 hour and 1 minute and 36 secondsUh...

1 hour and 1 minute and 37 secondsI'm here for...

1 hour and 1 minute and 39 secondsmoral support.

1 hour and 1 minute and 40 secondsSo...

1 hour and 1 minute and 41 secondsWe'll see how long I can hold out.

1 hour and 1 minute and 44 seconds-What the! -VIC: Ta-da!

1 hour and 1 minute and 48 secondsVIC: Here you go! Happy first game!

1 hour and 1 minute and 50 seconds-ASIF: Thanks, man! -Happy first game!

1 hour and 1 minute and 51 secondsASIF: Yeah, that's exciting!

1 hour and 1 minute and 52 seconds-Woo-hoo! -Thank you!

1 hour and 1 minute and 54 seconds\[CLAPPING\]

1 hour and 1 minute and 59 secondsI thought we were all alone.

1 hour and 2 minutes and 0 secondsWhere'd you guys come from?

1 hour and 2 minutes and 2 secondsI've been here for two weeks!

1 hour and 2 minutes and 3 seconds\[LAUGHTER\]

1 hour and 2 minutes and 5 secondsASIF: I don't really know...

1 hour and 2 minutes and 7 secondshow to feel about...

1 hour and 2 minutes and 8 secondsnot working on this anymore.

1 hour and 2 minutes and 10 secondsAnd going back to not working on a game.

1 hour and 2 minutes and 14 secondsIt's a good thing and a bad thing.

1 hour and 2 minutes and 15 secondsBecause this is also extremely stressful.

1 hour and 2 minutes and 17 secondsAnd I don't know how people manage it over longer periods of time

1 hour and 2 minutes and 20 secondswith other people's money at stake.

1 hour and 2 minutes and 22 secondsBRIAN: Booze.

1 hour and 2 minutes and 23 secondsYou know, just-- Yeah, clearly.

1 hour and 2 minutes and 24 secondsI mean, I thought it was just a joke.

1 hour and 2 minutes and 26 secondsBut now I understand why everyone here drinks so much.

1 hour and 2 minutes and 29 seconds-Uh... -\[CHUCKLING\]

1 hour and 2 minutes and 31 secondsSoda.

1 hour and 2 minutes and 32 secondsLEVI: I'm gonna take off, I just-- maybe...

1 hour and 2 minutes and 36 secondsI actually have a question for you real quick before you go.

1 hour and 2 minutes and 38 seconds-Is it about me eating this cake? -No.

1 hour and 2 minutes and 40 secondsI wanted to know how I, um...

1 hour and 2 minutes and 42 seconds...can, like, grab a texture and move it around on a smaller piece of geometry.

1 hour and 2 minutes and 46 secondsOoh!

1 hour and 2 minutes and 47 secondsIs that not an easy--

1 hour and 2 minutes and 48 secondsNever mind, never mind! I didn't ask questions.

1 hour and 2 minutes and 50 secondsBut, uh, yeah.

1 hour and 2 minutes and 51 secondsThanks, man! It's been real.

1 hour and 2 minutes and 54 secondsPing!

1 hour and 2 minutes and 55 seconds-Good night! -See ya.

1 hour and 2 minutes and 57 seconds\[ASIF CHUCKLES\]

1 hour and 2 minutes and 58 secondsUh, I'm getting delirious now!

1 hour and 3 minutes and 0 secondsBRIAN: You should go home.

1 hour and 3 minutes and 1 secondYeah, I'm going to fix these two things and then...

1 hour and 3 minutes and 4 secondsBRIAN: God bowls, garnish counter.

1 hour and 3 minutes and 6 seconds\[MUSIC\]

1 hour and 3 minutes and 54 secondsWhat?

1 hour and 3 minutes and 57 secondsOh! I thought you said: "Are we allowed in the universe?"

1 hour and 3 minutes and 59 secondsI was like: "Holy shit!"

I was like: "Holy shit!"
