August 31st 2026 [![](https://assets.doublefine.com/shared/news/2026/08/df-blog-thumbnail-box-02.jpg)](//assets.doublefine.com/shared/news/2026/08/df-blog-thumbnail-box-02.jpg "The fabled Amnesia Fortnight Box returns...") There it is! The Amnesia Fortnight box of mystery... Welcome everyone to the first day of the [Amnesia Fortnight 2026, Indie Reboot: A Double Fine Productions Game Jam, Documentary, and Kickstarter Campaign](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/doublefine/amnesia-fortnight-2026-indie-reboot)! Whether you're an early backer, a lurker, a follower, or just fell onto the page from an unsuspecting link, we're ***so excited that you're here***! It's day one of 30 days of amazing game pitches, intense voting, even more intense game development, and all of the streams, challenges, and updates we can fit into this Kickstarter. So, where do we start? First, **we have homework for you**! We know, we know, homework is *soooo* passe. But this is fun homework! The assignment: Watch the 26 pitches that the Double Fine team has lovingly crafted for you and (somehow) narrow the offerings to *your top three favorite pitches*. The voting poll will go out tomorrow, right after our livestream-- more details on that to come! We also have one later today on our [Twitch](https://twitch.tv/doublefine/), ~2PM Pacific Time to talk through some of the pitches. However you can start watching *all* of the pitches now! [Watch on YouTube: Welcome to Amnesia Fortnight 2026, Indie Reboot!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zM6nMnLTjXA) And if you need links to the pitches included in our launch video, we have options for you! - For those with ~2 minutes of free time: [The Compilation of 5-Second Pitches](https://youtu.be/9vWhBJRJum8) - For those who can spare us 13 minutes: [The Playlist of 30-Second Pitches](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLIQJw8xyKGbY&si=Czo4S5m9md1gXlpk) Remember though: your backer tier will determine whether you have 1/2x voting power, 1x, 2x, or even a *super secret, mythical tier* that grants 3x voting power. Second! We have a timeline for you, because we know this is a little unorthodox compared to some other Kickstarters you might have seen (Double Fine being unorthodox? Why I never!). If you haven't seen it on the main page, here's what you can expect: - **Aug 31 (TODAY!)** - The Kickstarter launches! The pitches are released! The backers start backing! - **Sept 1 (TOMORROW)** - Voting begins! If you've backed, you'll receive an update with the voting link; if you haven't backed, you can still vote but be sure to back before the first round of voting ends to get the *maximum number of votes*. - **Sept 3 - 7** - We’re at PAX! Come find us! Play a new *Mystery Small Game!* Get something signed by someone named Jim? Oh, no, sorry, *TIM*! - **Sept 6** - Voting ends the Sunday of PAX! Shortly after, our four finalists will be announced... - **Sept 9** - Amnesia Fortnight Begins 🙌 - **Sept 23** - Amnesia Fortnight Ends 🎉 - Shortly after, demos are sent out, the final winner voting begins! - **Sept 30** - The Kickstarter ends 🥲 - Shortly after, the final winner is announced! Phew, and that's it for the infodump *(for now)*! Your support has been so appreciated in recent weeks, and we can't wait to start this wild, wacky time with you all! ❤️ We can't think of better fans to bring along on our indie-pendence journey! Be sure to go to our [Kickstarter](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/doublefine/amnesia-fortnight-2026-indie-reboot) for more updates and announcements!
