Scott C's Psychonauts Bonanza

Harper Jay Harper

Hello friends and welcome to our little Psychonauts Anniversary Week. It's been 20 years since the game released and we have some fun things to share with you. We wanna start off with something from literally the nicest guy in the world.

Scott Campbell has been an important part of Double Fine's DNA thanks to his amazing artistic talent. Leaping from Lucas Learning to join Tim at DF's founding, Scott very first job at the studio was working as Psychonauts' art director. Together with awesome folks like Ravmig Mavlian and Nathan "Bagel" Stapley, he helped design the unique and "wonky" world that everyone's come to love.

To celebrate this big anniversary, Scott's drawn a really amazing piece of art and filled his store full of special Psychonauts merch that's available only for a limited time. Starting today and lasting into May 3rd, you can swing by the Scott C Shop to pick up everything from print to pins and even pillows!

Scott's Awesome Merch!

A peek at what you can grab at Scott's store. A fresh new Psychonauts art print, amazing pins and patches, and that big Raz head and brain will be made into a lovely pillow.

All of these are very high quality. Something I really love about Scott's stuff (you know, excluding the fact that it's Scott's stuff!) is that he really delivers things that are sturdy and have great feel. Which is a weird thing to say but I mean it. I've seen a version of that print and it's this really nice giclee dealio that's really durable. That pillow is hand made in the United States by MaterialJill, who make all these awesome plushies and other stuff.

All that's to say not only are you getting stuff in Scott's style but it's built to last and look really good whether that means plopping the art print on your wall or deckin' out your bag with those pins. And if you wanna look for other cool stuff, his store has all these pieces of dinosars and Twin Peaks and other stuff and he's so talented and nice oh my god!

Scott draws a section of the "family portrait."

Where was I? Right! Cool stuff and a week of celebrating Psychonauts. I think one of the big strengths of that game is how artists like Scott built a unique-looking world for Tim's story to play out in. Raz leapt from Tim's mind and then Scott's sketches gave him form. After that, animator David Russel mashed him into digital form before he then leapt into worlds designed by folks like Geoff Soulis. All that ran on code assembled by amazing programmers such as Kee Chi and Anna Kipnis. That's video games, baby.

It's really awesome to know how that chain works to bring a game to life. Remove something like Scott's art and the entire thing would fall apart! So swing by his store and peep this awesome stuff. I know I'm getting that art print framed ASAP!
