Hello, everyone.
My name is Scott Campbell.
I was the art director of Psychonauts.
The first game from Double Fine Productions
that came out 20 years ago!
Wild to think about.
It was a wonderful experience!
Bumpy road, but wonderful road.
I'm so thankful for all the love
that has been poured out to this game.
The cult following that seems to have developed.
And I've been-- I've been enjoying the fan art!
It's been one of the greatest joys of my life.
Double Fine was kind enough to send me this package
that contains some of the fan art
that you sent in to help us celebrate these 20 years.
I'm so excited...
...to check it out with you!

He is holding a...

Which, honestly, it's been so long that I kind of forget what that was.
Oh, the confusion bomb! There it is.
He is questioning you.
Which is what you should be doing.
Sasha!
Struggling with his mind!
This is what-- this is what you go through when you are Sasha.
You have all kinds of geometry and shapes going through your head all the time.
You gotta make sense of it.

Oh, I see! This is Raz first entering the gates of the asylum.
I love that the only thing you see are his glowing eyes.
This is from the second game.
This is Raz trying to escape from...
...this nightmare creature.
Do you remember the name of this guy?
Sometimes I forget the names of the design-- of the creatures.
I love the colors! I love the colors!
Colors are something I typically struggle with and stress out about.
So, I very much appreciate that.
Aww!
This is a very, very tender moment, okay?
It's Raz comforting baby Loboto.
Loboto is not sure if he is excited about the hug.
I'm guessing... Is that the brain tank?
It is! It's a brain tank that's been destroyed.
He was upset about that.
That was his big plan thwarted.
Look at his crazy face!
He should have had teeth like that.
I'm guessing that's in colored pencil.
Beautifully rendered.
And then, this...
What is that? But I do love it!
Tail? Into it.
Here we go! Oh, you guys, it's a Psychonauts happy birthday card!
Aww!
I'm so happy they could take a moment to celebrate this.
I'm sure it's pretty hectic where they are at.
Dude, I love the way this is drawn!
Dude, this style is wonderful!
And again, good color choices.
Moving on.
Another Psychonauts 20th celebration!
That was actually the first thing I designed
for Double Fine was the Two-Headed Baby.
Fact.
Historical fact.
An interesting choice!
It's like: "You know what? Those goggles could be smaller.
They don't need to be as big as they are."
These on the other hand! These are some bigger goggles!
Love it! Look at this! This is his classic pose.
This looks like it's actual paint.
Or acrylic.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
But just so you know...
When you are concentrating on something, do stick your tongue out.
That is how it goes.

Based on...
...the bully from Christmas Story.
The red hair was a big part
of what made him scary in Christmas Story,
so then I just pushed it.
These are some emotions that you--
we didn't see as often from Bobby.
Just laughing.
Probably making fun of somebody.
Oh!
So, this is a box art. And this artist took liberty
of replacing Raz with the initial design when Raz was still named D'Artagnan.
This is what it would have been.
And you know what? There is another dimension
where this is exactly what happened.
You know, maybe the game did okay in that one,
maybe it did better, maybe it did worse.
I don't know. That dimension is its own dimension.
Ah!
I love the hip, I love the hip.
Just like: "Hey, man. I could jump into that mind,
but I also don't need to.
Because I have some albums to listen to in my house."
Oh! This is kind of Monkey Island style!

This is an incredibly emotional moment.

This looks like maybe when Linda was first created and is like:
"Where the heck am I? I was just a fish swimming before."
Love the colors! Dang, that's a great color scheme!

This was a fun-- this was a fun level to design.
I mean, I enjoyed watching it being designed.
I did some concepts for this.
I loved the way you rendered these neon lights in here.
You got it! That's hard to do!
But you nailed it! Look at that.
That's insane energy!

I love the details on this.
Oh, he is doing the-- he is doing the fast run.
Hand up like this.
I think that's how Tom Cruise runs.
Yeah, that's a definite Tom Cruise run.
