We announced Kiln back in January, and today, we're super excited to bring you a mountain of Kiln information as we approach launch! Our online multiplayer pottery party brawler launches April 23, 2026 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Xbox Cloud Gaming, Xbox Play Anywhere, Handheld Optimized, PlayStation 5, Steam, and with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate! Kiln's Open Beta Throwdown

Want to play the game a whirl before launch, FOR FREE? The Kiln Open Beta Throwdown is April 9-11, and will be exclusive to Steam. You'll get a cool in-game Participation Trophy for playing! A "Request Beta Access" button will appear on our Steam page soon, and when it does, we'll post about it on our socials...but for now, wishlist it on Steam! If you haven't seen the trophy pot, it's very cute. Almost too cute.

Pricing & Editions

Kiln's base game is priced at $19.99. We've also got a super duper fancy Fired Up edition for $29.99, and it's chock full of extras: it includes the base game, premium glazes, stickers, attachments, custom pots, and bonus chips. No, these aren't edible and they don't come with dip! Chips are the in-game currency for Kiln, and you'll spend it at Slip's shop to unlock new customization options for your pots. Chips can only be earned by playing Kiln—no microtransactions to buy chips—so if you want a bunch of extra ways to decorate, the Fired Up edition offers a pretty good head start. Plus, Slip is a very good boy, and an even better entrepreneur. Preorder Bonuses...Remain (Mostly) a Mystery??

Preorders for Kiln will open on April 9—yes, that's the first day of Open Beta Throwdown, it's not a coincidence. We have some REALLY fun goodies if you preorder the game before April 23! BUT, the details of what's included in the preorder bonus is still TOP SECRET! We promise we'll reveal all when preorders go live, though, so keep your eyes on our socials in early April!

Xbox Wire Went Hands-On with Kiln

As you might have seen, we took Kiln to Day of the Devs: SF Edition on March 8. It marked the first time the public got to play the game, and it was a smashing success (pun intended---also, we'll talk more about DOTD later this week). The intrepid folks over at Xbox Wire took some time playing the game and talking to Project Lead Derek Brand and some other Double Fine teammates, and Xbox Wire Editor Will Fulton wrote an in-depth field report on Kiln that you should definitely take the time to read. There are even a few never-before-revealed details about the game, so if you're desperate to vacuum up every crumb of info, this article is a great place to do that.
