Psychedelic Documentary Music

Harper Jay Harper

Double Fine PsychOdyssey is here! 2 Player Productions’ latest documentary effort has led to the creation of thirty-two episodes of behind the scenes goodness. From the earliest Fig campaign days up until release, the story of Psychonauts 2’s production has been laid bare for everyone to see. All the fun and strangeness of game development is on full display.

It might’ve been enough to let folks simmer in strange silences but thankfully Double Fine PsychOdyssey also boasts a wavy soundtrack to speed things along and keep the blood bumpin’ and your foot tapping. It’s crafted by Drew Prusko aka “Orange Drink”, a Wisconsin based musician and DJ with a knack for fine vibes across multiple genres.

And, hey, if you liked the music? We have good news. You can enjoy Double Fine PsychOdyssey’s soundtrack on Orange Drink’s Bandcamp page. If that’s not your platform of choice, it’ll arrive on other streaming platforms within the next few weeks so keep your eyes and especially your ears open. And hey, if you wanna grab an earful immediately, you can check it out below as well.

It’s been a long and exciting road getting to this point and we hope Double Fine PsychOdyssey sheds light not only on Psychonauts 2 but what the realities of game development are for the artists, programmers, designers, and more. And we doubly hope that Orange Drink’s fine tunes can bring some zest (ha!) to your work and studies.
