Come for the stripping, stay for the Legend

So, I was fast-forwarding through commercials on my Tivo, but had to stop on this one. Not just because people were taking their clothes off, but also because I could swear I saw Eddie’s deuce taking a sweet jump off of some speakers. And look! I was right!

Right there over that Dr. Pepper fridge, you can clarly see Brütal Legend being played. And there again on that hideous couch, jealously covering up a copy of Dragon Age, you see Eddie again. Holy cow. Always nice to see Eddie on TV.
I just hope no one opens up that closet and knocks over that nice hoverTV.

"I don't know, hoverTVs aren't too metal. It should be supported by the pressure of a fountain containing the blood of your slain foes."

"Dude, I don't know if you're aware, but I saw commercials for Brutal Legend at the movie theater before District 9! Jack Black was Jack Blackin' it up! It was kind of surreal, in a way..."

"I love how you can take any buff and coiffed model and turn him in to a gamer nerd by the simple application of thick-rimmed glasses and hair brushed forwards."

"This is probably the only time one of my games and Tim Schafer's games will ever appear in the same commercial.

Such a proud moment."

"I'm actually quite offended by that advert. I'm no prude, but it's the most tenuous reason to have women (and the occasional guy) pull of their clothes in a shocking way. I hate the way they all look at Jack, wanting to be judged - it's creepy!

Then Jack goes and ignores the obvious sexual energy, which is even creepier.

No sir, I don't like it!"

ThunderPeel2001:

"Eek, I miss-wrote my last post! I didn't mean to put "sexual energy" -- which is weird and creepy in its own right! -- but rather I meant the obvious sexual/stripper connotations.

Good grief.

Oh look! Brutal Legend!"

"Dear Tim,

Please use the piles of cash you're going to make from BL to buy back Grim Fandango. Then please release a "Deluxe" edition of the game that runs on modern machines and has a higher polygon count for the characters (please fix those fingers!) and higher quality videos. Fix all the bugs that mean that some users never get to see Dom's explanation of events, etc.

Then please release it via Steam for a reasonable price.

Would that be ok? Please let me know.

Thank you very much.

Your friend,
- ThunderPeel2001"
