Background:

With the events of the final cutscene in the Excellent Game Psychonauts™, the story is left wide open, and strongly hints at the possibilty of a sequel.  Although Tim Schafer has stated openly that he would like to make a sequel to Psychonauts, Double Fine Productions has yet to publicly announce any plans to actually move forward with a second episode.  Many fans are extremely hopeful that Mr. Schafer will indeed continue the Psychonauts saga; however, the chances of this actually coming about, and certainly any details thereof, are at this point pure speculation.  Any official word on Psychonauts 2, should it ever be developed, will no doubt be announced on Double Fine Action News and subsequently have details available on the Double Fine Projects! page, after which the world would end in a glorious burst of joy and light, leaving behind only pure wonderment.
